“If I went easy on you, there would be no challenge, you know. Besides, I’m already going easy on you with my self-imposed handicap, Amamiya-kun. It can’t be that hard to beat me. You’ll just have to catch up to me, otherwise we’ll be at a stalemate with how these games of ours go.” Really, he wants the younger boy to catch up to him, so he’s not about to go easy on him. Ren has to push himself to his level, he lives for the challenges given to him on their outings. After all, hadn’t the other boy called him his rival? They’re suppose to challenge each other than push them to greater heights, or at least that’s how it’s supposed to be with rivals. “After all, it’s too soon for checkmate to happen now isn’t it?”

simple words could cause different and STRONG emotions in someone. yusuke usually was not exactly someone you could call SENTIMENTAL, as mostly he was ANALYTICAL when it came about moving or painful situations. however, the words spoken by his leader and friend were enough to make his heart beat a little more faster than before.

the circumstances that revolved around all his life weren’t exactly the best, but still life was KIND enough to put someone like ren in his path. and it was hilarious to think that at first he wasn’t as FRIENDLY as someone else would have expected and even thinking about it made him feel a little bit ASHAMED of his hostile behavior towards him and ryuji. who were going to know that he was going to become one of the most IMPORTANT people in his life? that was the best thing about being alive, everything was so unexpected that even it the worst turn of events, it was still going to be gracious.

for a couple of seconds, he limited to look up to joker’s face, his mouth a little bit open followed by a soft blush on his cheeks. “i feel the same.” he answered softly, his face regaining the normal color as he offered a soft smile that was blossoming from the corners of his lips. “i still have the need to apologize by my initial behavior. i was too defensive as i didn’t know what were your real intentions. however, i’m glad that could be corrected because without you, i would probably still be the same, tolerating the abuse i was receiving. i am so thankful to you that it’s hard to put it into words. but i’m glad we met and i’m glad that i get to spend time with you. even if our meetings are short, i am always happy to see you. thank you for existing, ren.”
