timing: a bit before the blackout
“Ooh, you’re here too!” Lydia chirped as she made her way over to Eilidh. “Or - you’re here, would that be the better way to phrase it? Since it’s probably also surprising I am here, or...” she trailed off, offering a small shrug and a dismissive hand wave. “Regardless, hello, hi, how are you? I like your dress quite a whole lot!”
It was easy to get along with Eilidh - though the two certainly weren’t identical - Eilidh was, after all, much more suited for being in the spotlight - but even despite not being the exact same, Lydia had found that they were compatible in ways that suited the two of them very well.
“Can one dance at a casino? I don’t know the rules, but I do know that champagne tastes nice, and a nice man gave me some sort of vodka drink which was also nice and standing around feels so very boring!” She rested a hand on the other’s shoulder. “Right? It is boring, isn’t it? And filled with so many old people. Or older people, I suppose, would be the better way to say things but I do feel a bit floaty, so... we’ll blame it on that.”
