Seeing about fantasy bringing knowledge about actual hope.

Heres my horrible tedtalk about fantasy anime.

Everything was great until the nation of the red haired knight protagonists came.

Then everything went down to ashes, okay not really, but i really liked that trope mostly because man would suffer, kill himself, perhaps be mutilated ,traumatized and beyond repair and hed still have hope over people.

By that i mean that despite the worst case in the world being shown in their face they still have hope that one day people will be at peace and i think thats beautiful especially in this pessimistic times of the year

Now what became annoying was the fact that

1-theyd never acknowledge consequences that theyd face in their journey or just brushed complicated cases like it never even existed, which is a bad lesson

It doesnt even teach you why you should still have hope with those in mind.

2-in so many of these, theyd make them a brat and an idiot, but the worst part is that in 2 years theyd change their entire self, like theyre literally completely different, they suddenly become angel and saints when thats not how it works and theyd see being stupid and kind of bratty has an awful thing, Which imo is an even worse lesson.

Which is erasing your entire being, personality and such from the face of the earth, its okay to grow up, but its also okay if some personality about your past stays with you.

3-Kind of rare but in some of them theyd be straight up not brats, not stupid, but terrible to their friends, its okay to be bratty and not understand some situations, its totally different to just offend and insult your friend in the worst way possible because "you didnt understand" my word did you not understand.

Cue my favorite character from this trope and its not from an anime its from a gosh darn korean videogame, that is pretty much inspired on another anime and its clear as day but ANYWAYS.

AND THE FACT THAT ELSWORD ACKNOWLEDGES HIS SITUATIONS LIKE. BRO.

I ALSO LIKE THAT although he changes a lot because his journey begins when hes 13 until hes 18 years old and hes a brat and kind of uneducated not straight up stupid(he can be smart at times), HES NOT AN ABSOLUTE BUTT TO HIS FRIENDS AND SOME OF HIS OLD TRAITS REMAIN, LIKE HES NOT ALL PERFECT DANDY ANGEL, HES AN ACTUAL PERSON.

I LOVE WHEN HES BLAND AS ROCKS BUT IN A GREAT WAY, NOT IN THE AWFUL WAY.

HES FINE. NOT THAT FINE I MEAN HES TRYING HIS BEST TO KEEP HIMSELF TOGETHER MENTALLY, BUT HES FINE.

Anyways i love elsword. Yes Thats his name.

Yes I did expect the game to be about a sword made by some mystical power which is called El for sure.

But no thats the name of the character, im not sure whats worse being called dicks mcgee or being called elsword.

I think id choose elsword.

i still have no idea who would name their child after a sword, elesis is a fine name, it may sound weird but not entirely because it sounds like an actual fantasy name, so what is elsword supposed to be and why would you call your child a sword, i dont get that, i really don't, its dumdum but i love him.

Still much better than being called lento, which is slow...IN SPANISH.

Some really smart person on the team really decided to call a npc character knight slow in Spanish and i could never stop laughing about it when i saw that in game.

You can make a bunch of puns with Ran too.

Chung couldn't kill ran because he just "ran" away.

Also IT IS REALLY AWFUL THAT THEY NAMED CHUNGS DAD HAS HELPUTT

BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE HELP MY BUTT

I FEEL AWFUL SAYING THAT CUZ I LOVE CHUNG SM TOO AND HIS DAD IS WHOLESOME TOO HIS DAD IS AN AWESOME DAD.

Lets talk about the lord of hamel

The lord of hamel has never looked more of a presumed entitled rich pompous butt, like i could tell he was a bad dude the second he popped in screen, "the enemy could be anywhere!" Cue the most evil entitled looking person walking down the streets of hamel with the yee yee haircut.

Even the dude in bethma didnt look this evil or pompous, just looked rich and entitled that was it, but the lord of hamel just SCREAMS "YAAASS IM THE EVIL GUY, YAAASS"

Though another character that looks extremely distrusting that NOBODY except for chung and ain coincidentally noticed to perhaps be hiding some shady stuff.

Is add.

I forgot laby also calls him the evil looking guy or villain guy and i have never agreed with a description about add so much.

Anyways thats it.

It’s a sweaty Lord Knight

Raising Elsword

Imagine Lowe raising Elsword like a father raising his son.

Lowe often has to make Elsword eat his vegetables; the boy eats nothing but meat and things that have a layer of grease, and lots of unhealthy snacks.  He’s not much better himself (has to force himself to eat his own veggies), but he tries to be a good parental example for him to follow.  

He’s not quite fond of the idea at first, but Lowe has kept an album of the El siblings’ childhood due to Anne’s suggestion.  Most people rather like the pictures where Elsword is giving Lowe a fairly difficult time being a good child.  Lowe personally likes the photo of Elsword, Elesis, and himself smiling in front of the Great El Tree during an earlier Harmony Festival.

Lowe often recounts tales about his ancestor’s feats, which excites a young Elsword, but nothing will ever excite them more than reading Elesis’ feats on letters from Penensio– even if she isn’t around as often as she used to be, she’s always family.

Elsword’s clothes are actually Lowe’s hand-me-downs, as he trained to become a knight at his age (his family is a line of Velder knights, and he taught Mega Slash to Elsword).  They fit him nicely, and have been patched up by Anne to seem brand-new.  

If there’s one thing both of them can agree on all the time, it’s to avoid Hagel’s lectures whenever possible; they’re long and they’re boring and not even Lowe likes to listen to him, as much as he agrees with him.

Ever since Elsword left to save Hamel, as Lowe is busy looking after the training camp, Elsword often sends letters to Lowe about how they’re doing.  He dislikes getting sappy and emotional over them, but can’t help feeling proud that he’s raised the same boy who brought Ruben’s El Shard back.

Lowe started to travel the week after the El Party brought the El Shard back the the Great Tree, and when the two cross paths on their adventures, they often share a friendly spar for old times’ sake.

•At first, Elsword, Aisha, and Rena had to rely on bringing a lanturn for dark nights– if they were desperate, Aisha would be the one to provide fire for a torch. 

•It wasn’t until Raven joined, that they could use his Nasod hand as a stable light source.

• Then Eve came along, and invented a flash light to utilize the power of an El Shard.  Otherwise, she could use her core on her forehead to illuminate the area, or Moby and Remy’s eyes to light the path.

• Elesis is able to control even a little bit of fire, so she could easily light a torch herself.

• And then Add decides to out-do everyone by inventing LED lighting.

Glave's emotions for each Elgang member?

Glave’s feelings about each Elgang member:

• Elsword -  He’s one of the few people that Glave takes interest in since they’ve first met, since he can sense his strong, natural reaction to the El.  Glave won’t say it, but he is making sure that Elsword isn’t going to miss anything that could be important-- he wants to see the boy at his full potential, and is enamored with the many possibilities this boy could take.

•Aisha - Honestly, he had no thought in this girl in the beginning, but it was impressive that she had managed to stick to Elsword and Rena-- and even more impressive that she had a talent for magic all along, right under his nose.  It wasn’t until he heard about the story about a ring taking away her powers, that he laughed to himself and decided to give her the chance of proving her strength.

•Rena - Glave has a slight interest in the elves’ natural abilities-- not magic, nor El, but spirits of nature that aid them-- and much more powerful than what the demons can accomplish.  However, he’s never really had a chance to examine elves since they do not often make themselves known to humans...  Until now, that is.  Glave will occasionally ask questions here and there, but refrains from appearing too interested about nature spirits.

•Raven - Now, Raven is a person Glave can put some respect for; despite being human, Glave quickly found out that he’s no fool to be confused by mere riddles about morality or his own life.  It even makes him reflect on himself-- and he doesn’t remember the last time he’s thought longer on what to do with his own life, ever since he had seemingly lost all emotion.  (He quickly concludes it’s pointless since he can’t remember his life before becoming an Administrator, though.)

•Eve - Being a robot that was from the time of the Ancient Nasod War-- a time so long ago that Glave hadn’t even existed -- she’s treated the most with... fascination, if one would accurately describe the emotion he has for her.  Unfortunately, Glave doesn’t bother with learning about Nasod technology, but he does ask some questions about the details of the past-- or do his own investigation if Eve could not provide an answer. 

•Chung - Honestly, how is he carrying all that heavy armor and a cannon that’s taller than his own body?  Even if he has no reaction to the El and relies heavily on the Guardian Stone--in his opinion, just a fancier El Shard--the kid is younger than Elsword and already had to see his own kingdom and parent fall.  He’s intrigued by Chung’s development throughout the journey.

•Elesis - Naturally, since she’s Elsword’s sibling, Glave knows she has the same high reaction to El-- but this interest flares more when Elesis was taken over by the El Lady, and Glave immediately considers himself to be lucky to have front-row seats to whatever world-changing event is about to unfold.  He’d have to see to it that she makes it to the end of the journey alive with her brother.

•Ara - While he’s walked around Fahrmann plenty of times to enrage Drabaki, he’s never heard of the fox spirit Eun, which catches his attention.  Eun seems to despise Glave’s existence, and somehow Glave takes it as a compliment that his mere presence would easily upset a divine entity.  This leads to him scaring Ara a lot, much to her horror, and Glave becomes somewhat curious about the bond between a divine spirit, a human girl, and a boy turned demon.

•Add - Even if Add has never spoken a word about being from the far past, Glave knows that he isn’t from this time period, and hints that he knows he doesn’t belong-- but his existence doesn’t really affect the fabric of reality. So as long as Glave isn’t forced to do bothersome tasks of keeping time and space stable, he just takes advantage of his fear of ghosts and makes it a habit to prank him whenever he gets the chance.  He has the best reactions from being scared.

•Lu/Ciel - Actually, Glave has seen the demonic duo, long before they met him.  As they were two souls traveling through time and space to get away from Karis’ ambush, it was the first time Glave has seen a very mutual and symbiotic relationship between a human and a demon--  most demons often corrupt their partner out of deep malice, but Lu and Ciel had a relationship that transcended that corruption... and rather, it became an evolution.  It’s only a bonus that Glave doesn’t know much about demons, and Glave treats them like a lab specimen.

• Rose - Glave is not sure where this gun-wielding woman came from, or if her drone companion is a Nasod or not.  She doesn’t seem to be directly connected to deciding the fate of Elrios either, so he doesn’t have a lot of interest-- but if he feels that fate has roped her into something world-changing, he’ll be there to watch without interference...  Otherwise, she’s welcome to help clean up Henir for favors as much as she wants.

How good is each member of the Elgang at Art?

Elsword can draw stick figures, and he’s quite proud of drawing curly hair, which is basically a bunch of scribbles.

Aisha says her art is fantastic, but she never shows it to anyone, mostly because it’s just as terrible as Elsword’s.

Rena can draw nature and landscapes with perfect accuracy, but people and self-portraits aren’t exactly her strong suit.

Raven used to be able to draw people beautifully, but when he lost his nasod arm, he lost interest in drawing, and slowly forgot how to.

Eve can mimic any piece of art, but drawing on her own has Elsword-like results.

Chung is wonderful at art, since he’s a royal. He can draw people and nature beautifully, but he prefers abstract art.

Ara is wonderful at calligraphy and nature, but like Rena, is terrible at drawing people.

Elesis has the same drawing skills as her brother, if not worse, since her stick figures are misshapen.

Add doesn’t really draw, and when he does, it’s tiny, intricate doodles here and there of his inventions.

Lu, like Chung, is a royal and knows how to draw, but she prefers not to, and has Ciel draw for her.

Ciel is excellent at drawing, but not at coloring in the picture, and Lu yells at him whenever he messes up on coloring.

Imagine the elgang breaking into song whenever their emotions run high. Love songs when they're feeling super positive, and darker stuff for darker emotions. Now Imagine Everyone preparing for a chorus of death as they face off against an opponent and suddenly, in the background, William Phoru, Chloe, and all the other villains that have been beaten and survived start screaming the most inspirational song ever heard in support of the elgang.
