Okay, so I originally made a long ranty, explanatory post about some ASBR stuff...
But my laptop died (and hopefully it saved? Sometimes my laptop will keep the page open and unchanged even if it “dies”), so I’m gonna make this one instead...
I am honestly really tempted to rewrite “A Single Blue Rose” when I am done with this fic.
However, instead of rewriting this fic to be “better”, I would be rewriting it as 100% my own story. Original characters, changing all of the details from the original YOI-verse, changing the central sport/theme to not be about Figure Skating (cuz I just gotta... if this is original, I can’t have it be compared to YOI...)
And I would probably rewrite it to be sold as a queer romance novel that doesn’t revolve around sex or anything. AND because it wouldn’t be a fanfiction, where a “pairing” has to be tagged... it would be it’s entirely own entity and it would not be spoiled at all.
Like... I seriously am writing this as if it were a full ass novel, or even a movie. And I would absolutely LOVE to see it in either form... and if it goes through enough revision and reformatting for that medium.... I might honestly consider sending it in to possibly be published somewhere... (or at least try).
I just really love this story, and this world I’ve created and the way I’m writing it... and I’ve seriously never felt this way about something I’ve made before, and I’ve DEFINITELY never had any career aspirations or dreams like this involving art before.
It’s a pipe dream, I know... but it might be worth a shot...
Somebody hold me to this plan:
I’m going to finish this *redacted* scene at the end of chapter 8 tonight.
Then tomorrow, I go back from the beginning and fill in all the gaps.
Then I quickly edit and post either tomorrow night or Thursday.
THEN I finish and organize chapter 8.5, and post THAT.
Who’s taking bets that I’m not gonna follow this....?
