Ukulele Magic
A few months ago, I picked up my first ukulele, and I have to say that I have had a blast playing it. With a background in guitar, I have had an easy time learning the chords and strumming patterns.
Now for the reason why the uke is magic. Before i got the uke, I was pretty introvert and shy. Now I find myself playing in public, and not only playing for people, but also singing (we all know how we are self conscious about our own voices). Also by playing I have met some great people like Chuck (of the Rusty Bucket antique store) who I met just by playing while walking to my car, and Brad (owner of Anacapa Ukulele), and other randoms that I have met and enjoyed me playing at Element Coffee.
The ukulele is a fun instrument, that is fairly easy to pick up and jam with. I have had the most fun learning, teaching, and just playing to my girlfriend and her daughter (my two fans :D). Maybe someday ill be good enough to play in a band with Chuck or Brad, but like everything in life practice makes perfect, but for now, I'm just going to keep playing. In the words of Jake Shimabukuro, " If everyone played the Ukulele, the world would be a better place."
