Esse livrinho foi motivo da minha primeira ressaca literária de 2023.
Catalina (a protagonista do romance) é uma jovem espanhola que acaba mentindo para a família afirmando que tem um namorado americano e que vai sim, levar ele ao casamento de sua irmã, Isabel. NA ESPANHA. Poucas semanas antes do casamento, ela se vê em uma situação de desespero por não ter o bendito namorado, quando o seu príncipe em um cavalo branco aparece. Esse príncipe em especifico é o inimigo da Lina (apelido da Catalina) no escritório desde que ela começou a trabalhar lá. Entre provocações, hostilidades e encaradas super longas ela acaba aceitando Aaron Blackford como seu acompanhante. E o que acontece quando duas pessoas completamente opostas - e que se odeiam - ficam juntas durante 3 dias fingindo se gostarem? Atenção: alta dose de risadas, diálogos inesquecíveis e cenas do Aaron sem camisa. A química é certa desde o primeiro momento dos dois, e quando pensamos que não tem como melhorar, a página seguinte nos prova o contrário. Catalina é uma personagem incrivelmente engraçada e sociável, do tipo que dá muita vontade de se tornar amiga, sabe? E ela passa por tantas situações gente como a gente, que logo no primeiro capítulo você já torce para que sempre dê tudo certo. Já o Aaron, por mais fechado que ele seja, você acaba se apegando ao jeito reservado e gosta disso nele, o desenrolar e o plot da história tornam ele o mocinho mais legal dos romances - olha que responsa ;) No decorrer da leitura, também nos deparamos com temas muitos importantes como machismo e misoginia dentro das empresas e esses tópicos fazem parte do desenvolvimento do casal de uma maneira muito interessante de se acompanhar.

Newer authors need to stop writing so good because I get attached to their impeccable writing style and then see that they only have one or two books and I have to wait liek a year for another one

*screams from the rooftops I LOVED THIS BOOK* days later and I’m still thinking about this phenomenal and exhilarating book. Hands down, MUST READ!!! . • Sometimes a book comes into your life without you realizing how much you needed it. I can’t even begin to tell you how much love I have for this book. I was hook, line, and sinker from the very first words. I wasn’t even through the first chapter and I lost count at the number of times I had already laughed and swooned, and it only got better after that. . • I’m still on cloud 9, floating in the pure happiness of this story and it’s characters. Lina and Aaron without a doubt captured me and I was left soaring. . • From the very beginning I was hooked, put a fork in me I was done. I was so enamored with everything about this amazing debut novel by Elena Armas. I was swept away with the writing and I loved the Spanish that was interwoven throughout the book. Honestly this book just put the biggest smile on my face and it made me so extremely happy and giddy and I never wanted this book to end. . • Lina and Aaron were EVERYTHING. These two brought it all. The chemistry was sizzling. The banter was hilarious. Their sexual tension was through the roof, and they had me gnawing my lip and clinging to my seat just waiting and waiting for them to give in, oh the anticipation. I loved these two and their dynamic energy. Lina brought the playfulness and humor while Aaron was all seriousness and punctuality. And together they were a match made in heaven. I can go on and on, but trust me when I tell you you need this book in your lives! . • The Spanish Love Deception was an exceptional enemies to lovers, fake dating, slow burn, office romance novel that bought all the goodness. The writing, the story, the characters, and the Spanish culture was beyond amazing. Hands down one of my top favorite reads of the year. It also goes without saying that Aaron Blackford is my new favorite. After reading this I need more. I can’t wait to see what Elena gifts us next and I’m so happy to see her thrive and succeed.
