Witch Tip: fake "offerings"
Do use fake flowers and fake fruits as altar offerings. Really, it doesn't matter.
I went to visit an archaeological museum, there were finds from ancient Greek temples. Thise finds were fake fruits and animal statuines.
People offered what they could: fresh fruit and flowers and animal sacrifices? Good. Terracotta fruita and small stone statues of animals? Equally good.
The gods do not care if it's edible, plastic*, or marble,they care for the attention and the "sacrifice" (as in making something sacred, thus reserved for them).
Yes, I know I'm an atheist, but I wasn't born one so I still know stuff ;)
*about plastic: they might not care, I may care a little bit more, plastic is polluting in production and disposal, so try to keep it at a minimum (i.e. if you had these thing around the house forever ok, if you have to go and buy some, why do not considering making your own in papier maché or modeling clay?)
