Wha? Two Mayu songs in a row? Uncanny! I swear I didn't plan that.
So, because Mayu is the offiseeall Yandere Vocaloid, naturally you'd expect a scary song from her to be about a Yandere, right? Well, sort of. Tonight's song is "Elsa-Maria," and, yes, it's about a Yandere but in a clever twist, this is actually sung from the perspective of the victim's girlfriend. Yes, the character who normally gets killed off in the second verse of a Yandere song gets a song all to herself. And, as you can imagine, this song is both sad and frightening in a startingly realistic way. Where did he go? Why won't he call? Why does she hate me? Please don't hurt him...
Of course, this song is actually a companion song to "Ellie," which is a more traditional Yandere song, but this one stands up fine on its own. Interestingly, that song is also sung by Mayu. So, is this guy dating two identical women or what? Who cares. Maybe it was just that Mayu was the only Vocaloid he could afford. (Vocaloid are crazy expensive.)
