Traditionally the January and July issues feature a collections story, this story focussed on Fashions latest Magnificent 7, Tom, Marc, John, Isaac, Michael, Stefano & Domenico and Helmut. All seven designers were becoming household names and on the verge of a fashion take over! I loved all these collections, esp Toms Studio 54 inspired collection and Dolce & Gabanna's romantic mix of Florals, Animal and Fur, so beautiful. D I O R . Fall 1997. This of course was John Gallianos first collection for the legendary Parisian couturier. With its fusion of old Hollywood and Oriental aesthetic, this collection has become one of the most iconic and memorable moments in fashion history! It was magical and exciting and revolutionary as this was the beginning of the "Britt" invasion of the Paris fashion world. With what would become standard, John bought his showmanship and made Dior fresh and exciting without ignoring its traditions. The campaign, shot by Nick Knight, stared Linda, Shalom and Georgina, carrying on the oriental theme, it was glamorous and stunning.
