OH I THOUGHT OF A GOOD ONE
So, I was going to a department party with some graduate friends. V is driving a group of us, as the designated driver. It’s getting pretty late, and we’re having trouble finding K to pick him up. So she calls him up: “Hey K, it’s V, we’re on our way to your house and we need directions.”
There follows a protracted period of him giving us directions and us driving around in baffled circles because we can’t find any of the streets he’s mentioning and we’re group debating back and forth with him because he can’t figure out what neighborhood we’re in.
Finally V realizes: she’s called the wrong K. This K is a dude from undergrad who she hasn’t seen in years, and who lives in a completely different state.
The best part of the story? College-friend-K, who apparently received an out-of-the-blue phone call saying, “Hi, we’re on our way to your house, give us directions,” and just went with it.
