I really don't understand why ppl think "isthe[x]videocute" blogs are annoying bc like. Even as someone who only casually understands animal welfare, it's still really depressing to me when I see a cute animal video and get emotionally attached to the animal in it only to find out the animal is unsafe/hurt/dead because of what people did to it in the video. I'd rather be informed so I'm not enjoying an animal suffering or giving profits and attention to people who hurt animals. And even in situations where an animal isn't being hurt (like situations where an owner stresses out their animal unknowingly for a video but otherwise have never really hurt them) it's still useful to know about body language and stuff like that so you don't end up hurting or getting hurt by your own animals. We owe welfare bloggers everything actually.

As critical as I am of shitty parenting, I think it's important to keep in mind that a lot of parents are doing their best to raise kids in the world we have. Right now our society makes it impossible to be a 100% good parent. For example, I saw people roasting a mother for letting her 8 year old son have a cellphone, and I almost agreed, until one other mother pointed out that she wanted her children to have cell phones in case of an emergency especially with all of the school shootings happening. People on this website say it's wrong for parents to extensively monitor their childrens' internet use, and I personally can attest to having been harmed by that, but I can't 100% say I agree it's wrong with all of the harmful alt-right and pedophilic things you can find on the internet. Neglecting your children is wrong, but a single mother who has to work three jobs to stay afloat may not have a lot of time to meet her children's emotional needs. Yes, bad parenting should be criticized but we also have to keep in mind that this bad parenting is the product of the world we live in. As it stands, there really isn't a way to bring up a child that won't result in trauma. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try, but that if we care about the well being of children, we need to make the world a better place too, not just scream at parents.

-Mayfield has asked us to be careful portraying Elijah as feminine, since making the predatory gay antagonist wear feminine clothes could be transmisogynist and alienate transfem audiences from the fandom

-Jedidiah is canonically white and if you're not a person of color it would probably be best not to racebend him bc his arc IS about privilege and doing so might have bad implications toward other races.

This show has good representation so please let's try not to make this fandom a toxic place for marginalized people! I don't wanna be the art police but I've been seeing these trends happen slowly and we have to be careful.

I do think that like, personality disorders as a label are kinda wack. Ik I have no right to say so, seeing as I have no credentials, but the idea of someone being like "You have extensive, horrific childhood trauma that caused you to develop a set of maladaptive behaviors and changed how you experience your emotions and the world as a whole, this means you have You're A Stupid Fucking Bitch Disorder and everyone hates you now" just doesn't make sense to me tbh
