How once in every like ten episodes, there will be a narration when tendou is clocked up, as if one specific writer on the team was REALLY into that concept, but nobody else

UNBELIEVABLE tonal shifts between gritty murders and bizarre comedy

Is tendou the coolest guy on earth or a self-absorbed loser? The writers cannot decide

A plot to find out who an impostor is that involves literally shooting kagami to death

Hiyori’s nearly doll-like lack of agency and total dependence on tendou and kagami despite not liking either of them

Daisuke’s entire existence feeling, retrospectively,  very irrelevant and almost shoehorned in?

Like the character that’s his literal replacement is more relevant to the plot at large than he is.

Also daisuke attacked tendou for defeating the villain because the villain could look like a pretty lady sometimes

One of my favorite aspects of heisei Kamen Rider was the thing of “no no don’t actually use the term ‘Kamen Rider’ in your show until the movie wars”

IIRC the only ones I saw that subverted it were Decade and Fourze, both anniversary shows, and now Ghost? I might be missing one or two.

But it really helped the shows feel self-contained and within their own canons. From the minuscule amounts of Showa stuff I’ve watched, the protags seemed to know instantly that they were Kamen Riders, and that felt really weird.

I gotta gripe for a moment about something that happened, because while I’m over the initial fear, it still ways heavily on my mind

For months I have been fretting about one particular thing, a wedding. A good friend of mine was getting married and while that was an amazing thing and I’m very happy about it, not being invited to the ceremony left me feeling a little down. Maybe it was my shitty “you’re not important to them” inferiority complex speaking, or maybe I just wanted to have fun with friends, who knows.

The entire time I was fretting about it, I was trying to figure out the best way to ask my friend “hey out of curiosity, why did I never get an invite?” I kept it to myself for the most part, except for two friends who I trusted in confidence not to tell.

Last night, on said friend’s wedding day, one of those friends asked for me. Without my consent, and without letting me ask. Now I’m sure I look like a coward who had to make her friend ask because she couldn’t, and I don’t know how easily I can face my friend who I see weekly. In addition, I sent a congratulation message, and that must seem sarcastic and petty now.

Do not do that shit without making sure it’s fucking okay to do that. I feel very wary about telling people secrets now.

I think I am on principle against horror game LPs because not only are they the #2 avenue towards that proverbial sweet youtube cash, but they’re also a breeding ground for fake, overplayed terrified reactions, which I detest
