So I was sitting in a Bambu Dessert & Drink which is a popular Asian cafe/dessert style place in California. I stare up thinking I was looking at another TV screen in the restaurant but no it was cycling pictures off Instagram and Facebook and posts from Yelp and Twitter. I looked at it for a bit thinking it was cycling through the same posts over and over. Nope we have an interactive posting screen that pulls hashtags or postings to a profile for how often you want it refreshed.
Yeah I was just as blown away as you are. In steps in a LA startup called Enplug.
So that would be a screen you might see. These screens will definitely be taking off, why you may ask? It is all about integrating reality with social. We are all on smartphones, interacting with the world. So here is the world interacting back. It gives incentive to people to post and great things said about your business are posted.
Take this idea a step further, I can see billboards being transformed into these screens intermixed with a marketing message.
Companies are always trying to find a way to get User Generated Content (UCG) normally through small short run campaigns. Great for a one-two punch of engagement and a quick video, commercial, etc. However a screen like Enplug gives you opportunity and flexibility for the long haul.
User/consumer experience is really the name of the game in a new age of marketing and Enplug is bringing that to a reality.
