I don’t think I’ve drawn this lovely mermaid in at least four years! 

This is Epi, a mermaid who served as my persona during my early art days.  She’s in cahoots with all of my other merfolk, taking on a leadership role in their group.

I haven’t drawn these guys together in years, but here they are! :D My darling merfolk cast.  They also have legged forms for their island/mainland adventures, but I really enjoy drawing their merfolk forms. 

From left to right:

Epiruna, the leader of the group.  She was born human, but a freak storm on the open ocean changed her fate.  With the resourcefulness of merfolk sailors, Epi was saved at the cost of becoming a merfolk.  She has a natural sense of leadership and wants to investigate what caused that freak storm.

Relana, the lovable goofball.  Relana radiates kindness and has a good sense of humor.  She’s always been a merfolk, so she’s more than capable of fending off the more dangerous parts of the ocean/islands to protect her friends. 

Maerin, the supportive pacifist.  She’s enthusiastic and eager to help a friend in need.  Maer’s not one for fighting, but if she’s pushed into a corner, she’ll take action.  She’s not a fan of crass jokes.  Maerin and Relana have been best friends since childhood.

Fehrin, acting manager of impulse control.  Fehrin is Epi’s boyfriend, meeting the same fate as his girlfriend when a freak storm sunk their boat.  A fisherman by trade, Fehrin possesses a level of seafaring intuition that rivals Rela’s and Maer’s.  Despite being a newly minted merfolk, he finds himself adjusting fairly well.

It’s my old ‘sona, Epi.  Even if she doesn’t represent me anymore, I heccing love her design.
