ESTHER- “This is ludicrous!!  We can not leave tonight.  My grandfather has passed, we were leaving in the morning for Brindleton, Cyrus and I, we are to attend his services.”

CHARITY- “No...Esther you can’t leave!!”

ARON- “I agree, Esther.  It is not safe for you to go off now. We do not know where these vampires are, it seems everywhere!  I mean Abraham and Ezil were taken right before our eyes almost!  Once any of us step outside of a protected home, you become at risk!”

CYRUS- “Esther and I are not witches, we hold no magical abilities.  We should be safe.  Once we attend the services, we can come to this safe house with all of you and Vada.”

ARON- “I do not advise you to do so...but I can not stop you.  Once you leave you will have no protection.”

ESTHER- “I have to take that chance, Aron.  It’s my grandfather.”

GIDEON- “Not to sound cold or heartless Miss Esther, but your life is at risk. Your grandfather is gone, he would understand.”

ESTHER- ‘ I am going to Brindleton, I have to go, I would never be able to live with myself if I don’t”

CHARITY- “If you go...you may very well not live!!”

Within minutes of Cyrus getting the call from Lucas, Aron Goth and Gideon Jones arrive at their door.....

ARON- “Cyrus...Esther  something terrible has happened.....

CYRUS- “My fathers???!

ARON- “Yes...I have received a strange communication from Tristan Valentine that he has kidnapped them, and that they will soon be killed, and then they will come for all of us.  I have gotten calls from around the realm and over the last four days, witches from around the realm have come up missing.  Almost the entire coven in San Myshuno, Newcrest, Pleasantview, and Sunset Valley are no where to be found!

ESTHER- “HOW....Why?  And who is doing this!!?”

ARON- “Something called the Order.”

GIDEON- “We believe it is Vampires....”

ARON- “The day has come, we MUST all leave and go into hiding. We can not delay. We are all at risk. And above all, Vada MUST be protected.”

ESTHER- “So, Vada did you have a good birthday?”

VADA- “It was okay as birthdays go, I guess.  Rowan seemed a little weird, but she always does.”

CYRUS- “Maybe it’s because you cast that memory spell on her.  You ever think  of that, Vada?”

VADA- “That was over a week ago, she shouldn’t be having any lingering effects...and another thing, I don’t like Charity’s friend, that Mr. Valentine.  He smelled really funny.  And I know it is harder for witches to read other witches, but I got NOTHING from him, but I certainly could tell he was trying his best to get into my head.  I don’t think we should invite him over again.”

ESTHER- “I don’t think you have anything to worry about, Vada, Mr. Valentine seemed fine.”

VADA- “Some day you will learn to listen to me mom...but right now isn’t the time is it?”

CYRUS- “Vada, stop being so precocious, you are 11, not 25...

VADA- “Fine...but seriously, I don’t trust him.”

CHARITY- “Your mother is right Vada.  I have known Tristan for quite a while now.  He is fine. He does a lot of spells with sage and other herbs and such, that’s probably what you smelled.”

VADA- “No, I know what sage, spices and herbs smell like.  He smelled like dead flesh to me.  But what do I know, I am only 11 not 25.”

JULIAN- “Well, if it makes you feel any better Vada, I am over 25 and not a witch, and I got bad vibes from him as well.  So maybe we should listen to you and not have him over again.”

CHARITY- “I understand, he is somewhat aloof, and he has changed since I’ve moved from San Myshuno and it has been a while since I have seen him.  From now on, if I see him, it will be away from the house.”

VADA- “Good...okay I am going to bed, this party was exhausting. Mom and Dad can the two of you tuck me in tonight, I know you are leaving in the morning and I am not going to see you two for a while.”

CYRUS- Sure sweetheart, we will be right up...we didn’t want to say anything until all the guests were gone.”

VADA- “I know. I will see you two in a little bit...Night Mama Charity, night Daddy J.”

The Goth’s had left earlier, and now Cyrus’s dads were leaving and Tristan was behind them...

ESTHER- “So glad you guys were able to come. Be careful going back to Brindleton, it’s getting late.”

EZIL- “I will let Abraham drive, I can not see a thing at night. We will call you tomorrow about all the baby stuff we have in the attic.”

ESTHER- “Great, I know once the fertilization takes place, things will go fast...maybe not for Charity, but a new baby will be here before you know it.”

CYRUS- “Bye, Dads, thanks again for coming.”

ABRAHAM- “Esther, our condolences, we will see you at the services on Friday?”

ESTHER- “Yes, Cyrus and I are coming.  We are leaving in the morning.

ESTHER- “She probably knew before we did, and didn’t want to tell me.  Sometimes I really wish that she was non magical.  I just think she has had to grow up so fast.  She isn’t like Rowan.  It’s like she lost that innocence that comes with being a child.”

CYRUS- “Ronan was the same way.  She is so much like him.  He always seemed older that Lucas and I.  He never saw things the way we did and he wasn’t even that well versed in witchcraft at her age.  So we leave in the morning huh?”

ESTHER- “You don’t have to go, Cy.  I can go alone.”

CYRUS- “Oh, no I am going with you.  Your grandfather was one of kind.  Both of them.  I will go and be there for you.  We will do this together.”

ESTHER- “Thank you Cyrus, that means a lot....”

CYRUS- “You would do the same for me. Come on, we have a birthday party to host...”

CYRUS- “Essie, are you okay, who was that you were talking to?”

ESTHER- “It was mom...my grandfather Taric died this morning, Cyrus....”

CYRUS- “Esther...I am so sorry.  I know he had been sick for a while, but I thought he was doing better?”

ESTHER- “He was, but the cancer returned and it was more aggressive than before. Oh Cyrus this feels horrible...I hate to tell Vada this on her birthday.”

CYRUS- “We can wait and tell her tomorrow, Esther. We have guests here already.  Charity’s friend Tristan came.  He seems nice. Come on, we have a birthday party to throw.  It’s not every day that our daughter turns eleven.”

ESTHER- “She is going to know, you know that, right?  And we are going to have to leave first thing in the morning as the services are Friday. So we need to tell her, as she is not going to be able to go with us.”

MAREN- “Esther, hi honey!”

ESTHER- “Mom!!  Hello, are you guys coming to Vada’s birthday party? If so you are going to be late.”

MAREN- “No sweetheart, I am afraid I have bad news....”

ESTHER- “Oh, no what? Is everyone okay??”

MAREN- “Your grandfather Taric passed this morning, Esther. He went peacefully with your Uncle Owen, Liam and I there with him. We are going to have the services on Friday. Hopefuly you can make it.”

ESTHER- “Oh, no...mom I am so sorry....yes, I will be there, but Vada can’t travel right now, so probably just Cyrus and I.”

MAREN- “Is she okay?”

ESTHER- “Yeah, just realm rules right now.  I will call you when we leave, probably in the morning.”

MAREN- “Okay, Esther, I am sorry I had to call with such bad news.”

ESTHER- “Vada Isabelle!!  What did you do to Rowan.  I just got a call from Lillith and said she came home crying and didn’t remember anything about being over here!!  Have you been casting spells on her!?”

VADA- “It was for her own good mom.  I told her something in confidence and she was going to run home and tell!”

ESTHER- “What did you tell her!?  And if it is something you have seen in the future, you know that you are supposed to share that with Master Aron. And you are NOT to be casting spells on others!!”

VADA- “It wasn’t anything like that.  I told her that Baron and I were going to be married someday, and she freaked out.  So that she would calm down I cast a spell to clear her memory of the conversation....I got it under control mom..just chill....

ESTHER- “Vada... I have had enough of this! Your birthday is next week and you are going to be eleven years old.  You are old enough and smart enough to understand WHY Master Goth and all of us have told you why you should not use your powers...especially on any of us!  I am going to talk to Aron and see if he can control your powers, as we can not have you running around casting spells and using your powers. It is too dangerous! Now, get inside, you are grounded and you have stay inside for the next three days.  And if you even as much as talk about your powers, you will be grounded for another three days.  Do you understand!?”

VADA- “Yes, mother...I am sorry.
