Walking around the area, Ethan took in everything that was happening. He understood the riots and he understood the anger and pain. But he also knew that if it kept up then the police forces would go hard with retaliation to try to do what they would consider ‘crowd control’. But his senses were thinking and telling him to go somewhere. And when he went that way he saw two people trying to rob a pre-teen. “You bastards.” He didn’t normally use his powers on mortals, but these two were definitely the exceptions. He swung his arms and the two men bodies went flying into the wall and they hit the ground with loud thuds and were knocked out.
“Hey, sweetie.” He rushed over to the boy, who clung to him and wouldn’t stop crying. He hadn’t had this young man before, as a patient, but he knew he could reach out to Linda to see if she knew the boy. “Come on. Let’s get you out of here.” He held the boy’s hand and went to his office. Moments later he was entering his office, away from the riots. The boy moved to the couch to lay down and try to stop his panic attack. Ethan texted his brother where he was - they were saying something about a guy stealing mirrors. Weird.
He picked up his phone and dialed Linda. “Please pick up.” He wished, looking at the boy with a sad look on his face. Maybe Linda would know of any statuses or conditions for him and Ethan could work with that. Or even the boy’s parents whereabouts.
