What's your go-to morning brew to start the day off? I can't say I shy away from tea or even hot cocoa from time to time, but I'm definitely a coffee drinker. If it's a fine quality, I can't say no to a good ol' trusty black cuppa joe... But admittedly, I could treat myself to a nice cold brew every once in a while. Splash some fresh sweet cream on top... That's the stuff. How about you?

Well anyways, back to the point of this post... I made a terrible mistake last night.

Against my better judgment, I allowed Evan to share some espresso with me, as we were pulling an all-nighter. The results were, pardon the pun... Catastrophic.

He insisted, reminding me that he was a king of an entire nation, which is fair. You know how agreeable of a kid Evan is, but there was a gentle defiance in his request that I couldn't find myself denying him a cup of the strong roast I had brewed.

At first he was fine. He perked up a bit in a few minutes, and we carried on our reading and discussion... But then the young Pettiwhisker Tildrum started to jitter. I was a little concerned it may have been too strong for the little guy, but before I could inquire he had lifted his cup to me. "May I have some more?", he asked... The wired stare in his eyes burned into my own, as I couldn't decline his request.

I had never in my entire stay here in Evan's world heard this boy talk so quickly and lengthy. It was as if the chattiest coffee demon from the bubbling latte levels of hell had seized his little soul. The boy would not stop rattling on, and I was reduced to nodding time to time to appease his restless banter. At the third cup I had to put my foot down... And not a moment too soon, for after three whole hours of Evan's caffeinated clamoring he finally crashed and fell asleep... Despite the chaos, it was sort of adorable seeing him conk out like that so abruptly.

Thankfully my duties today are light with the minor holiday going on. I have learned my lesson well... I don't think I'll let William have any coffee or energy drink until he is well into the workforce.
