hey beth! do you have any tips for taur anatomy? i want to make a leopard/clouded leopard taur (not decided which yet) but the anatomy is giving me huge trouble. your taurs are amazing so i immediately thought of you!
Aaa thank you! Let's see.... I think my biggest tip would involve like, thinking of the design as a Whole Beast, with one continuous spine? rather than a humanoid torso plopped on top of a non humanoid one.
For instance:
This is a snow leopard taur I draw a while back as a commission, with a spine drawn over it! and a silly sketch of how I think of the bones. I draw the lower belly area of the upright torso almost like how I would draw a longer neck of an animal, but then I transition it to be a humanoid torso.
I also like to make the proportions of the upright torso somewhat smaller than the horizontal torso, though that is mostly a stylistic choice I think. Just so that the upright torso looks like it fits as a 'neck' more I guess?
Another big help for me is looking up good anatomical references for the animal I want to taurify: look up full body images, skeleton and muscle anatomy, as well as you know. human anatomy lol. That's helped me a lot with making my taurs.
Anyway I hope this helps??? Good luck with your taur and lmk if you have any more questions :)
And if any other taur enthusiasts or taur artists (taurtists if you will) have any tips feel free to add on to this!
