If everyone was banned from posting darkships, then dark fiction fans would be robbed of the freedom to express their interests like anyone else because some random kid or someone with a rough background might stumble across it.

I can understand this view in a space that has a lot of kids or the post isn't properly tagged, but if it's posted somewhere that's predominantly an adult space and has the correct tags, I don't see an issue.

When I search up "problematic" content, I expect to see "problematic" content, because that's what I like and I want my fix. I deserve to have interests and see stuff related to it, I don't want some censorship bootlicker screaming in my ear about things that aren't my problem

I think the thing that kills me in anti rhetoric is that, to prove their point that "fiction affects reality", they often refrain from ACTUAL self-declared fictional media like cartoons, movies, books, etc., and start listing things like propaganda or common societal misconceptions and try to refer to these as "fiction"
