just spent the passed 40 minutes talking about how important Kingdom Hearts was to me when I was growing up only to be reminded of fucking ships. And I'm not talking do you ship sora with kairi or riku I'm not even talking about roxas and axel. Back in the day I thought mickeyriku was gonna be my breaking point. Then I saw gooxel. And I really, genuinely thought "this has to be it. It cannot possibly get worse." I have never been more mentally scarred than I was the first time I saw hardcore sephiroth/winnie the pooh. I remember exactly where I was. What class I was in. I remember the names of the people who were seated to the right and left. I remember finally no longer being upset I'd lost my copy of recoded a few years prior to that moment. This fandom has shaped me and I wouldn't change it for the world. But if you think sora and Vanitas looking kinda similar is even remotely the weirdest thing. In the words of Michael Rat, oh boy...

It's actually hilarious when straight authors make two characters of the same gender and have them interact in a way that would literally spell out "romantic interests" in bold flashing bright blinding neon letters and when the fans point out they're fucking gay the author says something like "no they aren't that wasn't the intention" and then try to aggressively push for other romantic interests that are rushed and often not even arguably requited by the character we know is gay and like this is about blitzstone but also this could be about a lot of characters.
I think it absolutely would be funny for Jason to retain certain things from his time with Lupa. Like imagine Jason will still sometimes literally growl with frustration. He'll snarl wolfishly at enemies. Even just like body language or how he positions himself in a group of people. Like it isn't usually obvious but it just happens sometimes unconsciously and it's always kinda funny.
hahahaha but imagine Nico and Will are wrapping up everything in TSaTS and Nico finds Jason and is like "cool we're bringing you home" and Hades/Pluto is like "what no you can't do that" and Nico hits him with a "don't care didn't ask" grabs Jason's arm and pulls him along
Except Jason holds his ground. Stands still. Resists. Just oh so quietly, "Nico..." And Nico is like come on it's fine let's go but Jason, more firmly, "No." And Nico is like what why Jason c'mon
And suddenly Nico realizes Jason is shaking. He says it again. "No..." But this time it sounds more like a plea.
"Jason, please--"
"I'm tired."
Silence.
"I'm so tired Nico. Please." And Jason tries to smile. And it is his smile. It's reassuring and warm but gods of Olympus. He is just so tired.
"it's okay nico. I want to stay. I want..." And it's hard for him to say it. And Nico knows why. Jason feels guilty. He knows he's getting special treatment. Knows that he's selfish for not just being grateful and going back with Nico and Will. If he goes back, he's bound to be dragged into more things. And it is selfish. If something were to require him to go, he'd go and go willingly, without complaint.
But he's dead. And that is sad. It hurts. It hurts his friends and there was so much more he could have done. But it's done now. He's dead and that means he's allowed to rest. And it's selfish. He's hurting his friends, hurting Nico. But gods he is so tired.
