some advice for fellow oily pals

If you have oily skin and are clueless on moisturizing here’s some tips!

 As an oily bitch, I usually moisturize after I wash my face to sort of rejuvenate it and again with primer before I apply makeup in the morning. Pick something that doesn’t feel super greasy and apply little by little instead of one big glob that you may be wasting in the end,

These I’m putting together bc moisturizing is key to pretty much everything. My Neutrogina moisturizer is what I use pretty much everyday and night before I go to sleep. It keeps my face looking smooth and soft. My Aveeno tinted moisturizer is what I use during the day to give me a little coverage since I don’t like wearing foundation. It does not have as much of a hydration power and my Neutrogina stuff does so what I like to do is put on my Neutrogina moisturizer on first and let it dry then put on the tinted moisturizer. This also helps because the Neutrogina moisturizer is a bit more watery versus the Aveeno which is very thick so mixing them together evens it out.

It is time to break the stigma that those with oily skin should avoid oils at all costs. I used to ensure all of my skin care products were devoid of any kind of oil. I always looked for oil-free moisturizers and cleansers. I soon researched the science behind some of these commonly listed oil ingredients and learned that they are not all bad. Using the right oils in accordance with your skin problems can boast wonderful results. 

One particular oil that can be beneficial for oily, dry, and even acne prone skin is Jojoba oil. The oil extracted from this seed is chemically similar to human sebum (human skin oil).

But hold on, this doesn’t mean you should go smothering actual Jojoba oil directly on your skin. Jojoba oil itself is not usually used directly on the skin to treat acne. It is most commonly employed as a carrier agent, in which is is known as a carrier oil. This means it is often used to deliver other beneficial ingredients deep into pores due to its similar chemical makeup of human sebum. 

Always do research before using certain oils. Learning about their properties and chemical makeup can help you choose the right one for your skin. Some oils can actually be comedogenic, or even harsh on skin. Some oils are better for hair, rather than skin.
