Morning read. @facultydept #facultydept #oddi
Faculty Department: Press Check at Oddi Printing, Iceland
Faculty Department: Press Check at Oddi Printing, Iceland
Three years in the making, I can't believe that Faculty Department is almost here!
Last month, I took a quick trip to Reykjavík, Iceland, with the design team Studio Faculty for a press check at Oddi Printing. It has been a fascinating journey not only working on the stories within the book, but also was an humbling experience to physically hold one of the first pages right off the press.
In working on my first self-published book, I worked closely with Marteinn Jónasson, President and VP Sales and Customer Service at Oddi Printing, who helped me navigate throughout the various stages of the printing process. I had such a wonderful experience in working with Oddi and I can't wait to work on the next issue with them.
Aside from the raw beauty of visiting Iceland, one of my most memorable experiences from this trip was getting to know the people who played an instrumental role in the printing process of this book. In particular, I was able to meet Thordur, one of the key people responsible in overseeing this project. From our conversations, I was moved in getting to know his love of print and found it inspiring that he has been working in the printing industry before I was even born!
Thank you to those who have pre-ordered, books will be in stock and out for shipping next month. We are working closely with a variety of boutiques and bookstores worldwide; please send us an email if you're an interested stockist or you have a certain shop in mind that might like to carry us.
We are in the home stretch and I can’t wait to share this book with you.
Best Regards,
JC
