Bar Shenanigans pt 1 (xyx x reader)
You've been in the Bloomic server for over a year now, have finally quit your shitty job, and are taking a vacation all by yourself. Well, not really. You have some friends with you, but you usually end up exploring the city on your own. That was fine with you. You have your phone’s GPS, you have money, and it’s not like you’re completely helpless. Somehow, you ended up being dragged to this bar and your friends were now off on the dance floor somewhere, leaving you perched on this particularly uncomfortable barstool. You don't particularly mind.
However, it seems this guy has been staring at you the entire time you've been in this bar, which is– while not unheard of– not very ideal. You shift uncomfortably, watching him out of your peripheral as you sip on your drink. Don't come over, don't come over, you silently pray to yourself, trying to focus on anything but this dude as to not draw attention to yourself.
Your prayers go unheard. "Hey, doll. What are you doing here all alone?" You turn and look up at the man; pretty privilege is real. Tan skin, dark hair, piercing eyes, and admittedly perfect lips look back down at you. He had piercings and, god, was his voice nice. But, no, you have to focus. Weird guy could still be weird, even if he is hot.
"I'm not alone, my friends are over there." You motion vaguely toward the dance floor and he seems to take this as an opportunity to sit. "Why are you alone, strange random guy?" He brings a hand to his chest, mumbling a quiet 'ouch', but he's smiling.
They really have no clue?, Xyx thinks to himself, humming a little in amusement. As soon as he'd spotted you from across the bar, he knew you looked familiar. It took a mere couple of minutes to realize why, but he still didn't believe it at first. That you were actually sitting there, in the same bar as him, looking as stunning as ever. He had already had a couple of drinks, so it didn't take much courage to walk over to you. It didn't occur to him initially, though, that there was no way you would know it's him.
While you had posted selfies and sent voice messages in chat, Xyx had done no such thing still. So, of course you didn't react well to this strange man walking up to you in a bar in a foreign place. Not his smartest move. "I am not strange," he defends. When he's only met with a suspicious look, he laughs. Suddenly, an idea. He could always tell you who he is, show you his phone as proof, but maybe this is a good chance to do some real-life trolling. "Is it so much of a crime to come over and offer to buy you a drink, maybe introduce myself in the process?"
The man flags the bartender down, and you can't help but admire him as he turns his gaze from you. He's toned in the best way, strong arms resting on the counter, and those piercings just kept drawing your eyes to his lips. He doesn't seem like he means any harm, and you aren't one to deny a free drink. "Who am I to deny a gentleman his drink-buying privileges?" You shrug and grin playfully; he shoots the look right back at you.
He asks what you'd like to drink and orders two of them from the bartender before turning his attention back to you. "I'm Xander. It's very nice to meet you." His voice has this sort of growling undertone that makes you want to melt into your seat. Or, maybe you just pregamed the bar a bit too much. Either way, you are thankful you have someone to talk to now… as long as this guy isn't secretly a creep. He reached his hand out and you shake it. His skin is a bit rough on your soft hands as you pull away.
"I'm [redacted]," you offer. Your drinks arrive and you bring it close to you, sipping on it. You're still a bit closed off to this guy, but there's definitely worse company.
"Are you from around here, [redacted]?" Your name sounded wonderful coming from his mouth. You could swoon just from that. He knew you weren't from around here, that was obvious enough even if he really didn't know who you were.
You gave him a doubtful look. "Damn, I thought I was hiding it so well. What gave it away?" you teased, grinning. He held his hands up in surrender.
"I just couldn't figure out how an angel such as yourself left heaven to get here." You laughed at that, he seemed pleased. It was hard to tell under the lights of the club, but you could see the faintest blush on his cheeks.
You smile and feel yourself relax more as the alcohol floods your bloodstream. "That's so cheesy, how much have you used that line?" Your body language has opened up now and you're facing the man. He grins, leaning in to lessen the space between you two.
"That's the first time. Care to make the tally one?" He sips his drink and stares you down. Everything feels so easy and natural with this guy that it's almost weird. He has such a large presence about him, yet seems to be completely and utterly focused on you, almost entranced. You guys get to talking and don't stop.
And he is entranced. The photos he'd seen didn't do you justice. Being here next to you is almost as intoxicating as the drinks he's been downing. He's currently trying his hardest to hold it together and not make an ass of himself. Sure, talking to you started out as a joke, an effort to mess with you, but now he had no clue why he was still going on with this. He could've made a joke or two and then come clean with who he was, but it's like there's a rock in the pit of his stomach making him unable to speak.
There comes a time where the drunk man is no longer able to sit still, so he asks you to dance. Equally as intoxicated, you agree. As he's pulled to the dance floor, Xyx's heart feels like it might beat right out of his chest. Before he knows it, the two of you are pressed up against each other, colored lights splaying over your features as the two of you dance. His body is hot against yours and his hands rest lightly on your hips, a cautious touch that leaves room to explore more.
It's all a blur, but you know the feeling of his hands at your sides, your arms around his neck and, eventually, his lips against yours. The music is loud, you can't hear yourself think, and you're initially caught off guard by the feeling. It's a heat of the moment, passionate, longing kiss. When you pull apart, he sighs out your name. However, not the name you told him at the bar, but the name you use in the Bloomic server. The two of you freeze and he pulls away from you.
How does this random dude know that name? Why does it fall from his lips so casually, like it's something he's used to? Your mind is going a million miles per second, so you do what any sensible person would do. You run away. You push out of the dance floor, out to the patio where the cool night air is like a slap in the face. He chases close behind you. When you turn to him, though, the look of confusion and sadness is enough to break his heart.
