Yesterday my mum picked me up from the hospital while I was still pretty high and shaken up after witnessing a friend having a horrible reaction to my medical weed and calling the ambulance, and while she wasn't exactly thrilled, she hugged me, listened to me, called me an idiot for the first things of my story and a good person for the last parts, drove me home, told me I look like my dad when I feel guilty, asked if I was gonna be okay or if I wanted to come back home with her. Never raised her voice or anything. She even thanked me that I was still comfortable enough to call her even when I did something I know she wouldn't condone.
I just... I hope to one day be a parent my children feel comfortable calling after they broke the law and ended up in the hospital. And I am really thankful to have that type of parents as well.
