I know that this might be a given, but if I EVER find out someone is commenting links of my fanfics—ESPECIALLY THE SMUT ONES—under any of Shawn's accounts or any other actor in general's account (ie tiktok, instagram, twitter), I will be deleting and shutting down everything, and you all will never hear from me ever again.

coming from a fandom where an author is currently getting death threats because fans thought it'd be a good idea to comment smut fics of a person with his coworker under his tiktoks and also bringing it up in a large YouTube fandom where the YouTuber tweeted about it, this is insensitive and insane.

don't even get me started how mad I get when celebrities (noah wyle I'm looking at you) bring up fan fiction into professional spaces. not even 6 years ago, fan fiction was such a taboo subject, but then covid happened and we all forgot how to act. like what happened to fandom etiquette????

Said this in a tik tok comment but also want to say it here- I don’t want the Pitt actors in fan spaces. Fanfiction about their characters isn’t for them, they shouldn’t be asked about ships, and they shouldn’t be shown horny fanart. I’m tired of the cheeky interviewers asking about ships (take Kingdon for example) and the actors not liking it (as is their right) and in the process shaming fans.

We have the right to enjoy our freaky fan creations (and our non freaky ones) without the scrutiny of actors who are rightfully uncomfortable of it! I miss the days of fan stuff staying private and AWAY from actors. Again, it’s isn’t fucking for them to see!! I would DIE if Taylor or Patrick ever read my fanfic, or any actor whose character I’ve written about.

Because, again, IT ISN’T FUCKING FOR THEM!!

Ok I'm mad at the internet rn. A very sweet talented artist is deleting all their blogs cuz all they've gotten since pretty much the start of the year is death threats and hate and abuse just because they're a Caleb main. I'm sure they have other stuff going on in their life but the online abuse is why they're leaving.

Fandom is supposed to be fun. Art in any way is supposed to be fun and relaxing and help you work through shit.

I've got mutuals being attacked for *checks notes* being popular for writing well. Artists I like (and had hoped to commission some day) being bullied off this site for their own mental well-being.

WTF PEOPLE! This is why we scream so much about fandom etiquette. Hateful losers hiding behind anons don't deserve to be in fandom spaces! These writers and artists share their works for free but y'all just can't have nice things. Ugh I'm so over people. My faith in humanity is basically none existent and getting worse every day. I always say I'm thankful that I'm on the nice side of the internet but I still see what happens on the other side.
