For next year's Red Nose Day - can we get an ending for the Marigold Movies? Douglas/Evelyn happily married & some kissage?! PLEASE!
But you know, let’s keep Ol away from it. He dropped the ball with the TSBEMH.

On Korra
As I hardly use this blog any more I feel I can write this here and keep a safe distance from any toxicity that may come in response.

I feel personally that Bryke did not know how to develop Korra past B1. This is shown time and time again when Korra began most books being either too wraped up in problems she solved months or weeks ago or she is acting too erratically. The only time Korra seemed a bit in tune with a balance of her proactiveness and calm are scenes in B1 and later half of B2. In B3 she hardly does many things. I know B3 was to focus on Air nation but Korra hardly has any development in that book aside metal bending. In B4 Korra’s PTSD is ‘magically cured’ and she seems to not feel anything. She automatically also tones down a lot of herself which, aside scenes with Kuvira or strategising, seemed pretty unrealistic.
One consistency I liked about Korra is that from energy bending in B1 she goes to spirit bending in B2 and this spirit bending follows through all consecutive books. The spirit world plays a large part in Korra’s development though Korra’s interactions past B2 with this world are pretty limited. I feel Bryke did not know how Korra would do things with spirits and just left it, tenatively hanging.
I just found Korra as a great potential who is lost between making her seem too aggressive and “having to suffer to learn compassion” (which makes me cringe even now). I feel Korra was being “punished” literally for being strong and aggressive which is not what I wanted. It just spelled misogynistic all over and I felt that Korra in B4 is perennially quiet and this can be shown as a sign of her PTSD but it is not. Korra is not a selfish person. I do not know why the show ultimately wanted to show her as a person who needed to suffer because of her confidence. Aang was not treated like this. I felt pretty uncomfortable what they did with Korra. I am just disappointed. Here we have a strong female, non-gender normative female, who also happens to be bisexual, being punished for all these things it seems. I love Korra. She is a character I REALLY NEEDED for many personal reasons and the way the show ultimately treated her was plain awful.
The thing is I may not be a KA shipper but I really don't like when people make the scene where Asami brings Korra tea as an excuse for being romantic. They say oh Korra is a girl from the South Pole so she mastered the cold and Asami wants to just get an excuse to be near her and be flirty. No. Just no. Asami is genuinely caring for a person she counts as her friend and gradual love. She does think Korra wants tea and maybe Korra does feel cold. She is convalescing from difficult things. Granted their conversation turned a bit sour but this a very nice KA scene where Asami was trying to help Korra and be supportive. I dont like it being relegated as a romance ploy as it does not do justice to the ship and I may not ship it but fair is fair.

I legit hate Funimation for almost every business practice they have (Thanks for price fixing guys!) But I love Gangsta. And Ian Sinclair is, as always, perfection. Damn them. Lookin forward to this! Are you?
So heads up- there's an rpg novel that lets you be a mecha pilot!

Behind the Green Curtain- Articles, Q&A
So I'm going to be doing some writing here and on the website from now on. I'll be covering all sorts of things- our product choices, things I've learned about the biz over the time I've been doing this, industry stuff, and more. Probly even guides for parents and readers alike. So what do you want to see first? What do you want to know, learn about, have the reference for? All suggestions are being considered here folks.
Convention Plans
I'm currently planning the cons Fandom Fix will be attending and/or exhibiting at for the next 12 months. Any recommendations?
