The Leeds child, hours old, cowered at our presence. Completely transfigured, it bore no resemblance to the babe it had once been. The midwife let forth a wail of horror at the sight of it, and this set it off to claw upon the walls of the room we had entombed it within. Halting only for fraction of a moment, it gave one last look to the cold stare of Mother Leeds, she who had brought it to this world, before the thirteenth child flew up the chimney to the unforgiving night.
