plot drop 001: gains & losses.
there is a necessary hierarchy that keeps everything within ( relative ) order in faulk hollow. the elders, hidden in the shadows yet omnipresent, wield an impossible amount of power --- while the mayor has always acted as their mouthpiece, a shining figure to reinforce their laws. as years have gone by, coming and going mayors have become increasingly lenient . . . much to the elders’ disapproval.
there has also been uproar to the fact that all mayors of faulk hollow have solely been human. the elders maintain that this is merely coincidence, but in a town widely populated by creatures of all kinds, there seemed to be an imbalance.
christmas day, tragedy struck: the mauled body of mayor ellis lancaster, a charismatic figure that’s been the unchallenged mayor for the last ten years, was found at the edge of the foul woods. fingers were pointed at the wolves, the vampires, maybe even a witch, but nobody has said a word of any details. a note was discovered beside his body, written in his blood & declaring that unless things change around faulk, this was to be the first of many.
the ambiguous nature of the note have left authorities scratching their heads: is it a human frustrated with what the supernatural creatures have gotten away with, or is it a monster looking to be seen?
faulk hollow now faces two concerns: a town without leadership and a town with something horrible coming. thus the FAULK HOLLOW MAYORAL ELECTIONS have begun, and for the first time in faulk history, anyone of any species is permitted to run. the elders cringe at the thought, but fear the possibility of mutiny otherwise. the election coincides with the investigation of mayor lancaster’s death, so be prepared for questioning in a town this small. the election will run until JANUARY 4th, where there will be a town-wide celebration for the winner.
SUMMARY: the mayor of faulk hollow has been murdered, and now the elders seek a replacement. a curfew has been enforced as authorities pursue their investigation, but it is a curfew that inspires more rebellious than order.
