I have two VERY DIFFERENT ideas for a long term project. But I'm obviously going to have to pick one for my sanity. Any suggestions?
Which project should I lock in on?

Maedhros in Angband | Choice 8
[Previous choice] [Masterlist] [Next choice]
Maedhros leaned forwards and kissed Sauron deeply on the lips. It made his heart race and it just felt so good as his Fëa leapt towards the Maia.
To his satisfaction, Sauron broke it in surprise.
"What!- Maedhros~ my darling elf~ has this idea made you excited?~" He burst out laughing and seemed genuinely entertained by what he had done.
"Of course I am! But I thought you wanted me!! Why are you backing up? I'm the one in chains after all." Maedhros has always been pretty, and as a result it was often others that chased after him. To be the one doing this to Sauron- even if he didn't really mean it- was thrilling! He batted his eyelashes sweetly.
"How could I say no to such a sweet ellon?" As good as this was, he was determined to take back power. He entered the kiss again, his tongue so hot it felt like it Maedhros' mouth. It was a battle between them to hold it, but eventually Maedhros broke their connection for air.
"You know, Maedhros, you really are something special…" He hadn't drank any of that potion himself, but this whole evening was invigorating. He wanted the elf for himself… but sooner or later Morgoth would want to see him too, or even give him back to the elves if they accepted a deal. It wasn't in your nature to disobey him, but this was just one small thing really, just one little elf. Perhaps his master would be kind and give it to him.
"I must go to my master, for he is yours now too. As sweet as you taste now, I believe his touch will leave you feeling foul. Not that I don't appreciate it, but it is- shall we say- an acquired taste. I shall see you again later.~"
You, the reader, are Sauron.
What shall you do?
Inform Morgoth of Maedhros' behaviour and ask him to share the spoils.
Ask Morgoth to grant you Maedhros to treat as your own thrall.

The Fair Fëanorian Princess, Chapter 3
Things are getting interesting again! I was on a roll writing this chapter.
Something about Melkor not wanting to spend his existence in the darkness of the Void. And then he CHOOSES to spread his power too thin and to diminish himself in order to gain physical control over Arda. Which results in him being so afraid of the destruction of his beloved body that he ultimately stays inside for the most part. He dooms himself to darkness and does not take advantage of his time in the very world that he could not put from his heart, before he is ultimately doomed to rot in the Void.
Something about the Feanorians, very clearly fearing the Everlasting Darkness and yet calling it upon themselves during their oath. And despite at least some of them knowing after a certain point that their actions are cruel and unjustifiable they still commit one atrocity after another (to an extent out of greed and pride, but also in fear of the aforementioned Darkness). And these choices are what ultimately dooms them to meet ill ends and to be unworthy of the Jewels that they pursued with such fervor.
The two situations are very different but there's something tragic and ironic to both.
After wandering through the forests of Oromë, Maitimo and Makalaurë discover a quiet clearing, stopping to rest. With lyre in hand, the private audience begins— for this song, Makalaurë will only allow his brother to hear.

Here is the first photo from our Maedhros and Maglor shoot at the Stockmann ruins! The hike into the forest was so magical and the location had such perfect elven vibes, it truly felt like stepping into Valinor.
For this shoot we wanted to explore Maedhros and Maglor's relationship during the Years of the Trees. I imagine their codependency started even then, for they are always mentioned together. It was so much fun singing while posing for this shot and getting into character, and our photographer went above and beyond with the edits and effects. We're so excited to share all the photos we took from this shoot!
Maedhros in Angband | Choice 4

Quickly darting into the lab he rushed by shelves of brightly coloured bottles and pushed his way through the dried herbs hanging from the ceiling. In the back of the room was the lab, a strangely brightly-lit place that smelled strongly of cleaning alcohol. It was a large open space with two distinct areas, one for the preparation of various potions and treatments, and another with a clean metal table complete with restraints. He shuddered to think of what had been done here, but he moved on. On the other side of the room there was an open doorway that led to bright cells, most of which were already inhabited by various sickly elves.
Then he reached the end. There was no doorway through, just a stone wall. The lab led nowhere, he realised in horror.
He turned to run back out, hoping he had evaded his enemies for now at least, when he was swept off of his feet. He hit the floor hard and looked up to see a cage closing around him. This trap had clearly been set to prevent any of Sauron's subjects from escaping, but now it had him again.
~
Sauron held his head angrily. How could he have let that elf overpower him like that!? Getting up swiftly he melted down the hinges on the door and let it fall to the ground. He wasn't going to even attempt to open a door that was clearly locked.
But now he needed to deal with his mistake. He could go to Melkor and let him know to raise the alarm, it would work but it would come at the cost of his dignity. The other option was to try to deal with the whole thing himself and recapture Maedhros before anybody even noticed he was missing.
You, the reader, are Sauron.
What shall you do?
Raise the alarm, Maedhros just needs to be found.
Catch him yourself, how much trouble can he really be?
