Yokai or spirits he could not identify right away were always trouble. Kaito had an idea of what it could be but unless he didn't investigate further, he could not act accordingly. Wasting his resources was something the onmyoji tried to avoid - some might call him boring, he called it resourceful and effective. Kaito frowned. Who was running away?
"I'd pat your head but maybe you don't like being touched - by ghosts or humans. I can speak for myself but not for whatever is up there. Stay close if you wish to keep your limbs then." Usually, Kaito found other ways to distract people and keep them out of danger when he could sense they had little to do with the otherworldly or supernatural. Yet something about this guy said the onmyoji could go this far, reveal details others would find weird rather than disturbing. At least, disturbing got you running.
