Felix Collins (or Fel, as most people call him) has been, by necessity, sharp edges and thorns his whole life. His childhood was spent in the streets — sleeping in parks, taking refuge in alleys, fighting tooth and nail against anyone who dared hurt him. A skilled pickpocket, his theft prowess was honed by the need to survive as a child with no protection or guide. Or at least, until he was nine and stole the wallet from the right (wrong?) person...
The man didn't shoot him or had his hand cut off, which Fel expected. Seeing potential for his purposes, he agreed to take him in, providing food and shelter and protection, for the low price of training him in the gangster ways. And little Fel, desperate and alone, bends backwards to win the favor and approbation of the only person who ever saw something good in him.
Pushing sixteen, Fel acts like his boss' enforcer, attack dog, and hitperson — helping on heists and taking out anyone who may get in his way to criminal royalty. Although his main skill is theft, he's not behind on aim, interrogation techniques and strategy. However, being among the most useful group members doesn't change the fact that many of his fellow criminals see him as a dumb kid to take advantage of, and even Boss himself can be condescending. But if Fel is something, he's loyal, for better or worse. Like a tamed guard dog, if you earn his perceived debt, you'll automatically be a saint in Fel's eyes. For all his hostility, he's obedient.
Fel has a surprisingly solid set of morals that often pit his feeling of indebtedness against the things he's made to do, no matter how desensitized he's come to be. Despite being mostly uneducated (an elementary school dropout), he's very street smart and his learning plasticity is high. He's a cynical atheist (agnostic?) in practice, despite not really thinking about religion on the daily. Beneath his grim world, he's a creative soul that expresses his frustrations writing aggressive music that will remain in paper.
To my five followers: ik you're probably here for mother. woe, oc hurt/comfort be upon ya.
Bonus: post-canon fluff 🩷
I'm stupidly proud of my pinterest character boards. Here's a peek
Bonus: plot-wise
Fel, once a street urchin with no future, is the ruthless enforcer of the head of a criminal group. Ansel is the teenage heir of the Hawthorne-Sinclair fortune. There were little other ways their paths would ever cross.
