What Are My Dream Guides Like?
As I mentioned a bit about Murray’s approach in the last blog entry compared to Dreamy WB’s. This has sparked some inspiration for me to share the temperament of all three of them. In order to do that, I will share Dreamy WB’s first as she is considered the leader and also, we need one guide to compare the others to.
She tends to act like a mother. What she does in-dream and how she behaves is wise beyond her age. Also, if dream characters hurt me and she’s there, she sometimes tends to pull them aside and questions their motives. Otherwise, she’s efficient and quick to pull me out of bad situations. In dreams, she’d hug me quite a lot and she was also very good at carrying me despite being a similar size to me. Even without speaking, she would always have some advice for me in one way or another. I would understand what she meant, even if she said one word, like “look” and I would see what she wants me to see. Her patience may sometimes run thin with my dream rivals but with me, she’s always patient and kind and picks me up if I’m lost (in a literal or metaphorical sense). One thing that’s unique about Dreamy WB is how she transports me around. She would enter a hovering position and invite me climb onto her lap. Then when I’m on, she would strap me in with her arms and actually keep the sitting position as she flew around the place.
He’s a bit different in the sense that he hasn’t been with me in many stressful or just plainly busy or active situations. He’s been more of a quiet comforter. I’ve only had a small number of dreams with him to date. Most of them seem to be in my bedroom and he is under the covers with me giving me one form or affection or another. He commonly says things to me like “It’s okay” or “We’re gonna get her back”. In a minor number of dreams, Murray has carried me around which he is really good at because I state him as the brawn as well in my dreams. In-fact Murray’s most prominent appearances were when Dreamy WB was completely missing and 18-Volt didn’t even exist in my dreaming universe back then. Murray is most proficient in physical activity whereas Dreamy WB and 18-Volt seem to be better suited when there is a social aspect involved.
I honestly find him to be the male equivalent of Dreamy WB. This is demonstrated in a lot of the things he does. The only difference is that he doesn’t tend to interact and reason with my dream rivals as much as Dreamy WB did. The similarities lie in the kind of affection 18-Volt offers, it’s the same kind of hugs and carrying that Dreamy WB did, only 18-Volt seems to do the carrying slightly easier, also having me higher off the ground and feeling softer when I’m on him because of his large body composition as well as having generally obvious muscles as well as wearing a padded jacket, whereas Dreamy WB wore more tight dresses or tops and jeans and was a smaller, lankier figure. He also seems to have developed a knack for teaching me things like Dreamy WB did; now with situations that Dreamy WB would have guided me through in the past, 18-Volt seems to be filling in that role primarily at the moment, almost as if he’s taken over in a sense. Also just like Dreamy WB, 18-Volt has appeared in a few instances to help my friends if something was happening to them in my dream. An alternative scenario is if a little kid is upset, then I would refer them to 18-Volt and he would comfort them. Here is one unique, funny quirk about 18-Volt though: Whenever he picks me up outside and carries me, he always walks in the middle of the road, he never uses the footpath!
So to sum that up, Murray mainly seems to comfort, whereas Dreamy WB and 18-Volt can comfort as well as teach.
