Shame & Fullness
So much of our shame is tied to how much we silence our truest selves.
We do so to have a false comfort in belonging to a group of people who only like us in theory. And to such a limited group of people at that if you think about it (friends, family, teachers, etc).
There is so much shame in being a FULL person. Be joyous but not too joyous. Be brave but don’t be stupid about it. Be kind but don’t be a doormat. Don’t ask. Speak like this. Behave this way.
And as a woman? Hide your anger. Be agreeable. Be kind. Think the best of others. Speak calmly. Be aware of your existence always as to not offend others.
This is when I realized I wasn’t depressed - I was repressed. I had stuffed all the feelings in and sealed it continuously with the false validation (response) from my environment.
The saddest part of this all - is that it is so harmful to your physical body. Your emotional body though unseen will show up in your physical body.
As dysfunction & illness. Why do you believe you feel so much better physically after “getting something off your chest” ?
Repression will cause illness - always.
Enough is enough.
What’s more important to you?
Your truth? Or the idealized you existing in someone’s head?
Love yourself beyond what is acceptable.
