Wei Wuxian Modern AU Idea

Ok, ok, ok. So I was at fencing today, and today was an enrichment day, where we learned how to rewire foil swords and dismantle body cords, and I had an idea:

Fencing Armorer Wei Wuxian.

Hear me out here: He's a brilliant swordsman, but even better at creating and using talismans and cultivation devices in canon. So I figured the modern equivalent of that would be an armorer for fencing! Because, as I learned today, fencing equipment is complicated and requires diligence and focus and a certain level of mad-scientist energy, which we all know our favorite protagonist has in buckets.

This could also easily be paired with something like Wei Wuxian injuring himself on purpose so Jiang Cheng can have the spotlight as Madam Yu demands, and finding a love for repairing equipment and teaching youth the basics! Ooh, this could also be a cute au with the juniors taking Wei Wuxian's fencing class and plot things happening!

Idk, I just thought he would absolutely love taking the equipment apart and putting it back together. Bonus! Testing the equipment for brokenness involves complicated-looking devices, I'm sure he would love making simpler and easier versions of for the juniors!
