of ticking clocks and moonglow,
maybe she should have known better.
honestly, hyerin, what were you thinking? of course this was going to happen!
wait, let’s go back a bit and explain.
hyerin throws parties every month. well, at least once a month – two years ago she ended up throwing five separate parties in december, but that was its own thing – it all started with her birthday and then a friend’s boyfriend’s mom was declared cancer free and a baseball team won a private championship and then of course christmas is a thing and new year’s is a different thing entirely – the fact is that hyerin is always very, very busy, and as much as she’d like to be, she’s not wonder woman and can’t always handle everything by herself. sad, i know, and you would think otherwise, with the whole magic thing and all, but what you need to keep in mind is that modern magic is extremely difficult, you need all these ingredients and diagrams and you need time, so much time! and time is something hyerin does not have in excess, what with school and her career and all these events and her sisters trying to set her up with blind dates and–
bottom line, hyerin needs help. and dear ms. kim dalrae has oh so kindly offered to help.
it’s a risk, of course – not talking to her, no, of course not, she’s still as lovely as always even after everything that’s happened, but going there, oh, that’s a terrible situation that hyerin should have avoided at all costs. but they were pressed for time, hyerin was always being chased by the ticking clock, and the arrangements were at dalrae’s house and it should’ve been as easy as translocating herself from her home to that secret quiet spot behind the it lab five minutes before class, it should’ve been easy, but of course, of course, when it comes to na hawon it is never easy, now, is it?
so she’s at the front door and hawon is there – maybe he’s leaving, maybe he’s just arrived, but he’s there right in front of her, and oh how her hands raise instinctively, how she has to physically push back the urge to shove him against the wooden frame with all her strength and kiss him on the spot only to then slap him as if it is somehow his fault – she holds back but the urge is there, the passion is there, the anger is there, she opens and closes her mouth repeatedly before turning around decidedly, and she turns back right away because she still needs help and is still pressed for time and god, why does he hold so much power over her still even after all this time?
“what are you doing here?!”, she accuses him of living there, as if he’s not allowed to exist anywhere near wherever it is she needs to be next. “i mean- i- is your mother home? i need to talk to her, and only to her, so don’t go thinking i came here to talk to you because i would never in a million years talk to you again if i had to, in fact i’m just going to ignore you until you tell me whether or not your mother is home and whether or not she has my flowers and that’s that!”
but of course she’s not going to stop talking anytime soon, is she?
