To my Malaysian and/or Indonesian followers, I just discovered that Fanfiction.net is banned in your countries. Gross!

Here might be some ways to get around that ban. 

http://ff2ebook.com - all you need is the URL of the fic and this website retrieves the fic and converts it into an epub (or whatever) for you to download. If this one doesn’t work, you could also try http://ficsave.xyz/.

private message FanfictionBot on Reddit (you’ll need an account/username if you don’t already) and it’ll send you the fic’s info was well as the epub or mobi download links; you download the fics off Reddit. Usage information here but mainly you can just put anything in the title (I wrote ‘request’) and then in the body text “linkffn(https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13717812/)” without quotation marks. The bot will PM ya back very quickly with everything. Pro tip: opt out of new reddit. old reddit is a lot easier to read. Here’s what it looked like (you’ll notice I didn’t write the direct URL in my message; you don’t have to but in the usage instructions it says you’re 100% guaranteed to get the right fic if you use the direct url vs. just the title+author in the parentheses):

Finally, you could use a VPN to just nav around any/all banned sites in your country. I use SetupVPN, a Chrome extension. It’s completely free and hasn’t ever really failed me (just always click “continue as a free user” if it prompts you to pay $$)
