in my mind fifth and twelfth division used to get along pretty well. i mean this during shinji-times and even before. work together and all that. aizen, trying to be less suspicious and follow in the footsteps of past captains, would try and maintain this with mayuri. im so sure aizen used to give HR trained responses to whatever mayuri would say, that little freak. and aizen is definitely a bit envious of him bc of mayuri and kisuke's relations

Se me ocurrio hacer un dibujo y pequeño fanfic de un flashback del primer almuerzo entre Momo Hinamori y Sosuke Aizen, en el comedor de la Academia Shino, mientras ella era una joven alumna avanzada y él ya era el capitán del 5to Escuadrón, muchos años antes de la traición de él a la Sociedad de Almas:

Christmas with 3 different years/eras in life.

From the last christmas that Tye Loe celebrated with his friends in the 5th division, to his first christmas with Zena to finally his first christmas with both Zena and Thaniea.

Even though christmas doesn't exist in their universe, I thought it would still be nice to draw them for christmas this year!

I just want to let u know that Shinji becoming the 5th division captain is something I’ll never stop SCREAMING about. The dynamic of shinji and momo was so unexpected but so lovely at the same time ;_; Finally she got the captain she deserved! I have this headcanon that when hinamori gets married, it’s Shinji that walks her to the stage (like byakuya to rukia in We do know always love you novel). Idk I just needed somebody to share this image in my head with

This is so nice anon! And fitting too, especially since he called her his ‘daughter’ in We do Knot Always Love You. She’s the straight man to his antics and they compliment each other with their differences (a bit like how Rangiku and Toshiro do, expect the diligent one is the lieutenant and the relaxed one is the captain!)

I was so happy when I first heard Shinji was her new captain for a few reasons. For one thing he’s the complete opposite of what Aizen was towards her. Aizen abused her admiration of him and projected a false image of himself that made him too perfect. Shinji tells it like it is, not afraid to voice his opinion or call out someone when needed. Around Aizen, Momo was always submissive, blinded by her admiration of him and never voicing any opposing arguments or views. With Shinji, we see the opposite: she isn’t afraid to voice her opinion (see chapter 685 for reference) and she gets angry at him (see chapter 646). This if far healthier for her, and helps her grow as a  lieutenant.

For another, the two of them know what it feels like to be betrayed (and by the same person no less). It’s probably one of the reason why Shinji decided to keep her one as his lieutenant instead of asking one of Visords to take her place. After the Winter War, Momo was in a state of depression over everything that happened and that her friends were moving on without her, but Shinji (in his own blunt way) reassured her that her friends are waiting for her to recover and that she was a good lieutenant. It was significant after her recovery and return to the fifth division that she referred to Shinji as ‘captain’ in Death Saved the Strawberry; it showed she was moving on from Aizen, and that she and Shinji, despite know each other for only a short time, were already developing a rapport with each other.

He made sure to note Momo’s kido skills to Omaeda commenting that, even though they weren’t fourth division level, her healing was enough to help him get up and keeping moving. Throughout the war against the Quincy they looked out for each other, with Momo coming to Shinji’s aid against Bambietta, and then Shinji saving her from falling after Gerard’s attack. She then proceeds to carry her unconscious captain to safety, despite the small injuries she sustained.

You know something, after seeing the respose to my recent Momo Hinamori appreciation post, it makes me so happy to see Momo getting so much love!

I remember there was a time when the mere mention of her name would inspire more spite then appreciation. It made me so sad, because I absolutely loved her character back then as much as I do now and felt she was misunderstood by some of the fans.

I know there are still quite a few people who aren’t the biggest fans of her, but I’m seeing more and more people say nice things about her or that they love her or just simply liking a post about her. All of this makes me really happy!! :3
