People are saying Plushenko “needs to” give it up, or how “it’s time”. I know some of it is due to genuine worries about his health (which I share), some of it is due to what seems like “common sense”, and maybe some of it is due to mere (barely disguised) hater emotions. More often than not, it seems like madness to me, too. Yet, in the end, all the armchair experts are talking about someone whom they do not know, who has achieved far more in the area of their opinions, and who knows far better than them the risks and consequences through personal experience.
I read what Plushenko has said, and what Mishin has said, explaining explain why he is trying to do this. What I understood from their words is that yes, most people think it’s not possible at all, and no, they don’t themselves know how far he can get from it. But, in some sense, that is the point.
But having said all the above (sort of) calmly...Wishing nasty, painful, potentially debilitating (I suppose I’m supposed to be grateful at least the phrase “non fatal“ was added) injuries on others just so that your favorite skaters can “get out of the shadow”? That can only reveal some things about yourself.

Each of us in the Orange Team has a favourite or favourite ones; here are some banners hand made by some of us.
First crazy moment of the co-founders of the Orange Team; there was no OT yet but the crazyness was there. in the World Championship 2008, Goteborg (Sweden) we gave Kristoffer Berntsson a present: Disco underwear matching his shirt!!! It is so sad that the only picture we have of this moment is blurry... but you still can appreciate how red he got!
