C'est fin!

C’est fin!

It is over. 112 284 words. 44 chapters. I’m finished. The writing of The Raveners is done. To be truthful, I finished NAO (the writing) a long time ago… I haven’t actually finished a book in….almost 10 years. Started many, completed… not so much. I am just so proud of this book. I love it. I’m sure by the time it goes back and forth to the editors a few times, I will be like.. omg… I hate this…

Tips for finishing a book

If you’re like me you can easily get absorbed into a book before you even know what’s happened. You can lose leaps and bounds of time in the real world while you’re spending your time in the preferred world of your book.

And this can make it hard when you come to the end of the book. It’s easy to go too fast and find yourself on the last page before you’re ready to finish it. It’s easy to be upset and angry that you’ve come to the end too fast.

So my tip is to try employ some self-control. Try to take notice of your reading speed. Estimate when you’ll finish it. Ask yourself if that’s something you can handle? If not, take extra care. Read slower. Savour it a little more.

Hopefully this will help you finish it when you’re ready.

Finishing

I have realized that this year I've started reading a number of books but I've never finished any one of them.

I resolve to finish reading all of the...three? Or four? I've started before the end of this year.
