Try Vikings or Outlander. I know it's kinda history but it's soo gooood. Especially Vikings!

OH gosh! Vikings, how did I forget Vikings. I've been meaning to watch that.

Ohhh I've seen some Outlander stuff on my dash and people seem to like that. So maybe.

Question: Are those shows I should watch on my computer? I.e. have scenes I would not want my parents walking in on?

I was challenged by kettzel to do the Nice thoughts challenge (thank you, cutie!). Once you get this, you must write 5 things you like about yourself and release them publicly. Send this to 10 of your favourite followers.

1. I'm a good observer, I guess. I can sense stuff about people, I see every little change in their mood which can be both amazing and exhausting, because then I end up worrying about them constantly, but yeah, it's especially helpeful when I write stories, because I feel like I know the way people can behave.

2. Since I've mentioned writing, I'm a decent writer, I suppose? I may not be the next Pullitzer prize winner, but I have a way with words and I'm rather good at expressing myself.

3. I can get really passionate about stuff. If I believe in something, there's no half-assing about it. 

4. I am a nice person. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I do have some really nasty thoughts about people, but I always feel bad afterwards and I end up making excuses for them (which is not always a good thing). But I'm always very careful and try not to hurt anybody, and even if I disagree with them for some reason, I won't say anything mean to them.

5. I would say I'm really understanding. It's rather hard to make me angry, I detest confrontation and yelling, so I always try to understand the other person.

Dude, I was a student and I wasn't skinny ;( Anyway, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT RENT!

Things I liked:

Collins

Angel (not the greatest singer, but really understood his character, and I could see that he loved Angel, so I loved him for it)

Mark,  the actor was quite nice singer

La vie boheme

Seasons of love

I'll cover you

Angel's death scene (although I heard opinions that it was too pretentious and I guess I can see it, but I still enjoyed it, it was just very... estetic)

costumes, because it's always nice when they come up with something different from the original play

Things I disliked:

Roger and Mimi (I'm tone deaf and it still hurt me)

minor actors during Life Support scene (too cheerful, did somebody tell them they were supposed to be I don't know, dying or at least hurting?)

Maureen's protest (it was way too grotesque, so people who didn't know the play, didn't really understand what it was about)

Angel's funeral (did anyone even seem sad...?)

too many loanwords (I know that translation is hard and in Rent it's nearly impossible, because the words in Polish are usually much longer and the songs from Rent are so fast, so the actors wouldn't be able to sing it out but New York instead of Nowy Jork? Really?), but other than that, I really thought the translation would be worse. It could be better, but wasn't that bad as I expected it to be.

Tango Maureen, ugh, it was really the worst tango I've ever seen

Joanne and Maureen in general were very unconvincing as a couple

everything should be more... naughty? obscene? I don't know. It was way too... polite. But wow, given the audience, I do understand why.

everything was shown way too directly, kind of given to the viewer on a silver platter, and it shouldn't be the case with Rent.

some decisions concerning directing in general, I remember I had lots of thoughts yesterday, but I forgot about it.

Summing up, I had fun and all, but just... nothing more? It wasn't life-changing, I suppose. And like I said, I never try to criticise translations because it's really hard with the songs, so my message to malcontents - try to translate it without changing the melody and get back to me. But yeah, it could be so much better and it pains me.

(I guess, I would be more harsh if it wasn't for that horrible homophobic audience, it made me want to defend this particular staging with all I've got.)
