“Think you’re a little old for that, don’t you?” Beau says, slapping Dallas on the shoulder as he approaches, nodding towards the inflatable obstacle course that spanned across the field. “You’re a hard man to track down. I figured you would have been where the beer was, not lurking around an obstacle course.” He should have guessed, Dallas could always be found wherever there was exercise equipment —— inflatable or not.

( He was a total jock. )

“Dude, you couldn’t have dressed more appropriate?” Beau says, looking him up and down with a shake of his head. “You stick out like—— ” Well, like a straight person at Pride. “This isn’t your local country rodeo, y’know?” Speaking of the rodeo... “Wait, close your eyes!” Beau orders, grinning, pivoting so he’s stood in front of Dallas with one arm behind his back. “I got you a surprise.”

“I can’t believe you both make the same face when you’re eating ice cream.” Ophelia comments, brushing a few hair away from her daughter’s face, watching her eat her treat with a bright smile on her face. “How are you? Everything alright at work?”

Ophelia was panicking. First her daughter had decided to answer the phone -- and it was Dallas on the other line and secondly, for whatever reason, her ex decided to come over and check on them. That wouldn’t have been a problem under different circumstances, but a ring she shouldn’t have been wearing was stuck on her finger and no much how much soap the blonde used, it wouldn’t come off. What the hell was going on, it used to fit her just fine. Growling under her breath, Phe didn’t take long before locking herself up in the bathroom; hoping that would save them from the huge embarrassment. “Shit -- fuck, come on.” she says, while trying to remove the jewellery.

THE GIFT FOR CHLOE lays beside him in the booth he’s already acquired for the pair of them, his navy coloured jacket strung across the back of the booth, brown eyes scowering over the menu despite already knowing what he’s going to order. It’s what he orders everytime –– chicken and waffles, drizzled with maple syrup and a jug left behind for extra pourings. ❛❛ I’ve got some news, ❜❜ He begins, folding the menu shut and laying it flat on the table as he’s joined in the booth, unable to contain the words or his excitement at finally getting out of the apartment building any longer. ❛❛ I’ve found a new place to live, bigger than my current apartment and hopefully less bloody rogue goats on the loose. ❜❜

“Why don’t you invite a friend over for the holidays?” Folding a few clothes and placing them on the couch, one after another, the blonde looks over at Dallas for a moment as their three year old is playing on the living room’s floor. “Also, have you decided what we’re coking for Christmas?” Ophelia asks, smiling warmly at him. “I’ll help with the dessert, but on’t expect me to get in your way. ”
