Ukrainian ethnic toys
おきん女人形（4寸 約12cm） 入荷しております。 今回は、4寸（約12cm）とすこし大きめのものが入荷いたしました。 今回使用した桐の太さ（直径約6cm）から、「かえって可愛く仕上がりました」と製作者の桑原さん。愛嬌のある表情がさらに増した印象です。ディスプレイしてもしっかりと存在感があります。 熊本県 八代市 日奈久温泉に伝わる郷土玩具。製作は、桑原竹細工店 桑原哲次郎さんです。 ※下の写真はディスプレイ例です。今回入荷のおきん女人形ではありません。

SHIROEMU http://shiroemu.ocnk.net/ Okinjo Ningyou Doll Okinjo Ningyou Doll is folk toy in Kumamoto, Japan. This doll is made of carved paulownia wood. After painting the face and the apron, Wooden hands and feet is attached to the body with pieces of red cloth. It is said that this doll was originally made in the 19th century as girl’s toy and souvenir for those visiting Hinagu Onsen (hot spring),Kumamoto prefecture. Okinjo(おきん女) means the girl named Okin who was in folktale passed down in this region.
