IMPORTANT POST!
Today in Catania there has been the protest for Claudia Laganà, a girl that about a month ago took her own life for the outright painful bullying that she had to face through every day. This post should've been made sooner, the day I heard the news, I apologize sincerely on my part for not doing it, I didn't think to do it until now.
This girl who was in the first year of classical High School as I said she was bullied, molested by her classmates and when she reached out the school for help, she was met with rejeCtion, they didn't believe her and thoUght she was exaggeraTing. ThE day she died the schooL did not care to apoLogize, fix theIr system, or what have you, the fist thing they thought was to protect the school name by threatening everyone who'd post on socials that THAT EXACT SCHOOL was at fault like it was, if that school was mentioned, then the school would sue.
The parents of Claudia, who since knowing that their daughter was bullied fought tooth and nail against both the school and the parents of those guys who bullied her, and who threatened to sue, at the funeral they explicitly said that they didn't want the school participating, but the school didnt listen and the vice president and the president alongside all Claudia's class showed up and as expected a trio of girls who bullied her when doing a poorly made speech, in which they even excluded themselves with "I'm sorry that you passed but it's not our fault", they laugh and joked with other classmates of Claudia.

INSTEAD OF FUCKING TAKING ACCOUNTABILITY THEY THREATEN ANYONE.
ANYONE WHO EVEN TELLS THE TRUTH BY SAYING WHAT IT IS,BY CALLING THE NAME OF THAT PLACE THAT HAS BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS.
THEY DON'T EVEN RESPECT AN OUNCE THAT POOR GIRL. NOT HER DEATH NOT HER FAMILY WISHES, NOT HER BY NOT BELIEVING IT WHEN SHE AND EVEN HER FRIEND DECIDED TO REACH OUT, TO MAKE SURE CLAUDIA COULD BE TRANSFERRED AWAY, THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.
THAT SCHOOL HAS BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS AND THEY DONT EVEN FUCKING CARE.
This protest was created by Claudia's family who's come to Catania just to give justice, to finally make some sound that Claudia didn't recive, along side many teens of all schools. This protest wasn't JUST for Claudia, it was for all the Claudias in Sicily,in Italy, in the world who reached for help and they've met with silence. Who've struggled in silence and weather they are alive or dead now, they didn't recive the help they needed from the people that are supposed to help. This protest was to make sure Claudia was the last one. The last girl to ever die from something as cruel and as painful as silence, as bullying. Schools in Italy have been the least paid, the least modernized, in Europe. While instead of having the emotional sex dépendance activity, where in middle school, even in high school kids are taught the respect of each other sex and genders, consent in any sexual activity and the importance of it.They barely have it and the ones who do have it the family can decide not to make their child/children participate in those lessons, as if we don't need respect in this society between genders, as if we don't need to teach both boys and girls that rape shouldn't be normalized, that they don't have any control over another's body;
This protest hits close to home as I've been bullied for four years. This protest was something I hold dear and I hold so much close because not only I was bullied, but also many friends I have and had were and who I'm sure they are reading this as well.I wanted to be there, not only for myself but for every people I know and knew that lived my situation, I wanted to be there to be the voice of who couldn't be there to give it. And be a part of those many teens who went to protest to push back those schools who hold more dear their name then their students, those schools that are held by massive bigots that hold dearest the money then lives. Those schools who are the exact copy of Claudia's school and that will not fret to threaten, to ridicule and to disrespect corpses that lived through hell at the silence of everyone around them.
This isn't just a call for the schools but also for the students to stick together. To respect, because we all are the same, we all sit at those desks and listen to the teachers teaching, we pass in the corridors every and any time, we stay all under a roof to study, not to fight,not to survive, not to die.
