kill! that! penalty!
starter for : @hcneywords
she was cute when she struggled. he couldn’t stop himself from chuckling from a far as he watched wrestle with the car jack. being more conspicuous than subtle. and he wasn’t the only one who noticed. he figured he could have minded his own business. let the man threatening to call the police if she couldn’t prove that it was her car she was breaking into. a fact that they both knew she couldn’t prove. but rigs was feeling generous that day. so he put on his best dicaprio and jogged over. “hey babe! i found the keys, i found them. they were under the chair of the table next to us.” he gave a breathless laugh as he pulled out his own pair of keys and smiled at the stranger, before glancing over at the man with a look of oscar worthy confusion. “is everything alright?” he questioned pulling her close as if protectively. which seemed to be enough for the righteous stranger as he soon after walk away. “what kind of amateur are you?” he tsked with a flick to her forehead. he ripped the jack away from her and got the passenger door open with ease. “please tell me you at least know how to hot wire the thing right?”
A couple Qs for Sammy from anon
five stages of goodbye
i. wait two weeks. drink some water and drown in a healthy dose of denial. file an imaginary police report, people disappear all the time. is there a difference between disappearing and leaving? the lines in between are more like circles and you’re not sure which happened first. when you find the answer remember it.
ii. write a song in the key of things left unsaid, tell him all the ways you didn’t know him. play the tempo as fast as he left. create a symphony of his flaws and crescendo it into his grave, let him be the tragedy at the end of the film; vilify him, honour him, build him a shrine made of dried up tears and flower crowns and that sticky fall that escaped the paper prisons. make me a martyr that died for the cause. i heard that there’s nothing nobler than falling on purpose so i guess that’s why we invented the art of climbing in reverse.
iii. delete all your pictures from instagram. hashtag we are done. finished. finite, like everything else on this earth. i suppose it finally reached the expiration date. change your status on facebook, unfriend from your life. there are no matches made for memories, so instead burn everything he ever touched, control alt delete all traces of this doomed reality. look for an alternate universe or a paradox or a space and a time where you and him were good together.
iv. tattoo this into your soul. carve his absence in your brain and turn him into the reason you don’t listen to old records anymore. mark it on the calendar as the day that ceased to exist on the same plane. start off with a eulogy of why it didn’t work out. It didn’t work. It didn’t.
v. say it out loud. chant it three times into a mirror and wait for a monster to pop out and scream before you realise you’re staring at your own reflection. say it soft because it’s fragile and your voice always breaks when you tell the truth. sing it until every muscle and atom and particle in your body violently combusts. say it until you believe it. say it in five different languages. adios. scream into the void of pitch black nothingness. au revoir. never forget this.
