Summary:

Shinichi takes care of animals left abandoned during cases in his free time. Somehow, he still ends up getting involved with Kaito Kid more than he ever planned.

Lil note:

au where everything is the same except Masumi knew the main trio before canon and gets shrunk instead of Shinichi

Here, this is a world where Shinichi, Ran and Sonoko knew Masumi before the canon, where Shinichi, "while a little awkward at times, was genuinely kind and loved animals".

A world where the female detective was the one to get shrunk, where the scenarios experienced by Shinichi was instead confronted by Masumi.

A world where a certain detective and a certain thief should have not been able to be as acquainted as much as the world we are used to but... well, they both have managed to achieve the impossible.

(Honestly, this fic is more like pre-kaishin so don't expect too much romance from them. Even so, their interaction is really cute and the au is pretty neat and interesting.)
