“The Killer is you” story time
Dog eat dog is an understatement of the kind of severity the world offers. In youth it is unseen, masked by the false pretense of protection and the belief that evil is just a word.
But you learned, as you do, that sometimes the best way to protect the world is the eliminate those who threaten to harm it.
And sometimes the law isn’t strong enough for that.
He was a wanted criminal, murder, theft and numerous other laws broken under his belt. When you finally found him you’d been tasked with bringing him to justice.
Your foot in the center of his chest, ribs creaking under your weight, he coughed, sputtered. “ You wouldn’t- huntsmen are noble do-gooder assho-- ”
He didn’t finish that sentence before the end of your blade cut clean through the muscles in his neck, a shower of crimson covering his body, rapidly draining the light from his eyes.
Your radio fuzzed to life, questions coming through about the whereabouts of the crook.
You pulled the radio from your belt and clicked the talk button, wiping the bloodied end of your blade off on the dead man’s coat.
