This selection from sketchbook 2 are a little blurry as they are photographs of old photographs stuck in to demonstrate my second year show (I got away with doing Foundation over three years but was not organised enough to properly record my first one) earlier I had posted some images of initial proposals for fond of the large paintings which were stretched hide over frames ( in effect, crucifixions) the first being a pose I got Billy to do and got my fave on it from photos from a photo booth. There was no easy digital recording back in the day! The second, a close up of the Torso and the third just the pink triangle between the nipples and navel; the pink triangle of course being the symbol that was used to label gay men in the holocaust. Aside from this were icons of Charlotte and Smudge, a painted assemblage of Jasper made from blow torched plastic and a few other bits including a shot of my work space with life drawings and s painting I never finished and had forgotten about showing myself as s child, mum, our Kevin and gaps for other tribe members. I remember the one seated in the wall was going to be our Kate. They were based on mum’s old photos from Ireland and represented for me a kind of ancestral dream place where the family would be.
