Thinking about Fran of the Devil again. This funny teen in their vintage qucci whom the state sees as old enough and competent enough to need a criminal defence attorney but not old enough and competent enough to get something as simple as a name change without permission from a legal guardian.

Thinking about the way that the flashback to when Morgan first met Fran and we learn these things comes just after the first time Morgan meets Serra. The ways in which that primes the audience to think about what the state sees as autonomy, and how selective it can be with that lens.
