“The Fight”

Ronnie Kray x Fem!reader

Summary: While you were practicing for your performance for tomorrow night at the Esmeralda, The Kray Twins decided to take it out on one another. You decided to stop them from going too far and make them apologize for it.

Relationships: Reggie Kray x Fem!reader (platonic), Frances Shea x Fem!reader (platonic), and Ronnie Kray x Fem!reader (romantic).

You were the star of the Esmeralda.

The Kray Twins and you knew each other since childhood and even though they were gangsters, they treated you with kindness, especially Ronnie. You fell in love with Ronnie.

You also had an another love for singing, so when they invited you to be a singer at the Esmeralda. Of course you had to say yes.

Singing and Ronnie were the two things you loved the most ever in this world. When you first met the firm, they all became your second family and when Reggie started seeing Frances, she became one of your closest friends. You and Ronnie started dating shortly after Reggie and Frances started dating.

At the club

You were backstage with some of the dancers rehearsing for your show tomorrow night at the Esmeralda. You came onto stage and started telling the dancers what you wanted them to do for the show and you turned around to see Reggie and Frances come through the door.

Reggie and Frances go straight to Leslie and talk about what Ronnie did. Reggie suddenly turns around and Ronnie raises his glass up and turns back to Leslie. Ronnie yells, “Eh, where are you goin?” Reggie yells back to him, “Fuckin criminal, criminal!” You turn around abruptly and look between the brothers and furrow your brows in confusion.

Ronnie stands up and says, “Hey, where are you going? Ah, there he is my beautiful brother Reggie, A toast! To my beautiful brother home at last! Like agamenmon returned to ethaka and beautiful Frances, where have you been? I-it’s like you’ve returned to the dead.” You put your hand over your forehead rubbing it and Reggie says, “What are you doin mate? What you fuckin playin at?”

You’re standing on the stage looking between the brothers watching as it unfolds. Ronnie then says, “I’m not playin at anything, you come in here and don’t even say hello Ron, you don’t even have a drink, you just bugger.” Ronnie then says and yells eventually, “All right, hello Ron, cheers mate, FUCK YOU!” As yells that last part, you jump back a little bit and roll your eyes.

Ronnie says, “You right-,” Reggie cuts him off and says, “You had the world on a fuckin string but, you couldn’t hold it together so, you FUCKED IT UP!” They both kept bickering back and forth and everyone was just standing around staring in silence.

Ronnie then suddenly says, “Actually he’s go this he’s a big boy, we’re talking about owning a living all right. We’re talkin about being gangsters which we are, alright so you can just fuck off!” As he says that, you look at him in disbelief.

Reggie then stares and says, “Don’t.” Frances then buts in and says, “You know, one of these days Ron Kray, your miserable life will swallow you whole.” You looking at all three of them in disbelief and you whisper to yourself, “Oh my lord.”

Ronnie just stands there blowing his cigar smoke the other way and then says, “Yeah, well you should know all about that, shouldn’t you love? You know I’ve heard about the stories and they’re not good. Even, Y/n knows about them. And your mom did palm us off with the damaged goods, didn’t you?” You stand there in silence as they went on and you made eye contact with Albie.

You motion to Albie to them three and he motions that he doesn’t know and you roll your eyes at him. You watch him as he tries to get Frances out of there but, Reggie says, “Don’t you ever speak to Frances like that again.” Ronnie then says, “Yeah that’s right Frances, his blood is thicker than water. You know I’ve been with Reggie since the womb.”

Reggie then cuts him off and says, “Ron shut up. I want you to apologize to Frances. Right now.”

Ronnie then obliges and says, “Right. Right. All right, Frances. I’m sorry, all right, yeh. I’m truly very sorry, the clubs are very, very empty a bit like you really. There’s all innit half of my brother’s cock.”

Reggie then suddenly grabs his back and throws him to the ground and Ronnie gets up slowly. Reggie goes up to him with his finger pointed to him and says, “You. You are fuckin disgrace mate.”

You have your hand over your chest and slowly walk off the stage towards Frances and Albie. Ronnie then suddenly hits Reggie in the face. They start really fighting and you get to Albie and say to him, “Give me the fuckin champagne bottle.”

He says to you, “B-but it’s full, Y-y/n.” You say back to him, “I don’t care give it to me, I swear to god.” You turn over to Frances and say to her, “Don’t worry about them I got it.” She looks at you worryingly and you give her a nod. Albie then elbows you and hands you the bottle.

You then slowly walk over to the twins and slowly lift the bottle over your head towards them. They notice you and you say, “STOP! NOW! Get up.” They listen to you and stand straight up, you roll your eyes at them. You say to both of them, “You two are acting like children, jesus.” Ronnie then says, “Sweetheart, he said some mean stuff to me and you know how sensitive I am, luv.” You grab his face with your free hand and say to him, “I know luv but that doesn’t mean fight with violence. Now say sorry to him.” You turn his face towards Reggie and they both say sorry to each other.

You take a deep breath and look around to all the people in the club, they all looked shocked that you knew how to handle two big gangsters fighting each other.

You say to the people, “Don’t mind them please, I’ve been dealing with this since I was a child.” You give Ronnie a kiss on the lips and whisper to him, “I love you darling, just please don’t try to kill each other, please.” You walk back over to Albie and Frances and said, “See I’ve got it all under control. Frances, come on let’s go, I’ll take you home just give me a couple minutes for me to get me stuff, alright.”

You walk over to the dancers and say, “We are done for the day, come back tomorrow morning for last rehearsal, please.” You walk backstage and grab your stuff and come back out.

You walk to Ronnie and Reggie and say, “You two are going to stay here and clean up your mess. I’ll take Frances home, Reg. Don’t worry. Now clean.” You give Ronnie one last kiss and say I love you to each other. You turn to the firm and say to the boys, “Help them before I put all of your heads on sticks. Now.” They listen to you right away and help clean up.

Frances and you walk to the car and go home. You dropped her off and you drove yourself home. You got ready for bed and Ronnie eventually came home to you in bed. He starts to get ready for bed aswell and climbs into bed and says, “Im sorry luv, that I fought with Reggie tonight.” You roll over to him and say, “It’s alright luv, but just don’t say those things about Frances. She’s a very caring woman and Reggie will always be your side.” You kiss him passionately and things start to unravel.

You are the star of the Esmeralda.

But you were Ronnie’s special star and favorite one.

THE OTHER WOMAN - REGGIE KRAY

You stood center stage just as you did every night, but suddenly tonight the lights shined down too bright, the heat absorbing into your skin as it would on a hot summer’s day, but it was the dead of winter, the gauge reading ten below. 

In a futile attempt to ground yourself you reached forward for the microphone stand that stood tall in front of you. The metal felt cold against the heat of your skin, just as you did every night you pulled the microphone close to your lips. Your mouth opened, but no words passed through.

You were lost, distracted, your eyes locked onto one thing, a diamond ring. It glimmered under the club lights, sparkling as if just to taunt you. It was beautiful on her finger, but it made yours feel all that more barren. You stood there not envious, nor rage filled but, broken. All his promises seemed to shatter right there, no more house in the suburbs, no more nuclear family, none of it would be fulfilled with you, but now with this other woman. This woman you had never met before in your life, had now completely turned it upside down. Not with words, or actions, but just by sitting there, under his arm.

Your mind wandered, but soon you remembered where you were, where you stood, what was expected of you, but you knew tonight you could not fulfill the expectations of the people that sat before you. 

Your hands slid down the cool shaft of the microphone stand, sliding back to your sides. Your heels clacked on the stage as you made your exit. The sound of your heels clicking echoed down the empty hall till they stopped at a halt leaving you to stand in front of the entrance to your dressing room. The golden star plastered in the center of the wood felt like a cruel joke now.

You reached down, clasping the golden knob turning it in your palm before pushing open the door. It all was the exact same you had left it, just before your world had come crashing down. Each item seemed to taunt and laugh at you, each one having been handpicked by Reggie, a testament to his love and devotion for you, or so you thought. It all felt like a cruel joke on you now, how could you be so stupid to think you were the only one? He never even met you in the light, it had been seven months of secret kisses in the alleyway adjacent to the club as you caught one another coming or going, and late nights spent on the sofa or even the floor of your dressing room. You felt a fool for thinking it was more than that.

You sat at the vanity, your knees pulled to your chest in the chair, your head pushed into the palm of your hands, too ashamed to look at your own reflection in the mirror. Your tears were those of mourning, mourning the loss of something you never had, something you would never have. 

Pulling you from your thoughts was the sound of knuckles rapping on the dressing room door. 

“ It’s open. ”

Those were the only words that you could muster before your crying resumed. You heard the heavy foot falls behind you before they came to a stop behind your vanity chair. You felt the hands of the man you thought to once love you come to stroke your hair, his fingers gliding through the untangled locs.

“ Don’t waste tears on me. ”

Silence filled the air inside the dressing room, it wasn’t awkward but tense, filled with unsaid thoughts, and unspoken words of anger.

“ I never promised you forever, love. ”

You felt his words chip further at your shattering heart. How could he say such things? His promises of you being the only one, the gifts from all his trips he took, the late nights, how did they come to mean nothing? 

Your hands moved to press against the polished wood of your vanity, pressing flat as you stood. Reggie towered over you in that moment, his large frame making you feel that of a child. Your glamorous dress and heels now felt as if you had snuck into your mothers closet to play dress up. Your makeup feels little difference to that of a clowns.

“ You had to know this was coming love, I mean.. you were just another bird. When a girl like Frances comes ‘round you don’t pass up the chance to get a girl like that. ”

His words were like daggers to your chest, he stood staring directly into your eyes telling you, you were no more than a good lay. You watched as he turned to leave, but before you even realized what you were doing a perfume bottle was thrown at Reggie’s head. Narrowly missing, it came to smash against the wall just beside him, glass flew out and the smell of expensive floral fragrances filled the room. The perfume had been imported from France, Reggie said “ it was worth all the money to see you smile. ”

You expected a big fight to pursue that moment, everything seemed to freeze until Reggie continued his path out the door. He left you there, a broken woman, shattered by his words. He hadn’t done much of anything, but like a hurricane he left with destruction and devastation following his path.
