i feel like we as a fandom never talk about sherlock's time spent in France
if i remember right, he was there for definitely the Commune and the events that led up to it (The Franco-Prussian War)
and during their rein, the Parisian soldiers that were obviously mad about the whole thing lowered bread prices and gave free public education
maybe that's also why he could understand what Liam meant by the "social reform" goal because he literally saw it happen (and Bloody week too)
not to mention all of the deaths that happened DURING bloody week
idk i feel like we never talk about what he did in France, or what he experienced if we still stay in the time period
Dans Un Ravin. Lignards // Infantry in a Rivine
From “Jean-Baptiste Édouard Detaille (French, 1848 - 1912)”
Some shots of later 19th century French Infantry, likely around the Franco-Prussian War. I always liked these outfits, the blue coats and red kephis were a nice contrast. Them and the Zouves of this period are gold, shame they lost that war.
Napoleon III is my homie.
